CP, I think you have to hover over the person's username to see their "official" name--sometimes the official name is not the same as the one that you see, and the official one is the one you use to tag. I don't understand why there are two names, but that's what I seem to remember someone saying.

ClimbingPyramidsSome people's names are different than when they first signed up here. You can see their other name by just placing your cursor over their name above their avatar. The "hidden" name over the avatar will work. Thanks, casper!

Ohhhh, I see I made this confusing for everyone. During sign up, my name was Eta - for "edited to add", but switched it over to Clutterborn because it was a more descriptive name. Coming from a line of hoarders ... I was born to this. Unfortunately, I had 2 relatives die due to hoarding (trapped in a hoarded house during a fire) - which is why I get so mad at myself for not being able to overcome this hoarding mindset. I know firsthand the damage it can do.

wow, clutterborn; that is some hard, heavy stuff about your hoarder relatives; i'm so sorry. no wonder you feel that way about those thoughts. it's easy to get mad at the hoarding mindset - i know. i do it all the time. it's demoralizing to get so mad at oneself. moving is emotional, and these un-logical emotions are bound to surface. it's a death and rebirth experience! you have done so much! yes, you have the genetic tendency, as i have, to hoard. but you have done wonders about it and very fast. you are bound to have some "rebound effect,' especially with the stress of having to move so quickly. you jump right in and take action which is a good way to deal with anger... but it might be ok to admit that you feel some emotion around all of it too and that it's perfectluy natural, considering the stress you're under. hugs your way, and WTG on making it through the inspection with the people who are buying willing to fix things!

Thank you very much creativechaos. Yes, it was a great loss of two awesome people. I am very safety conscious and fire aware, and don't like to see anything piled or blocking areas. I think having all the packed boxes around is annoying, and have stacked them as neatly as I can. Happily, the movers will be taking them away soon. You're absolutely right that action is both motivating and healing. Am learning that the more progress is made, the better I feel. Thank you for the hugs.

We're *supposed* to close the sale of our house on the day of the hurricane ...... I highly doubt that!

Oh no, what timing! I hope that you stay safe in the storm, and get the closing done as soon as feasible after!

Thank you both, dtesposito and creativechaos . We were able to stop by the Title Co. yesterday afternoon, and signed the closing papers in advance. They'll file them on the date of closing electronically. I believe they can do that wirelessly through a phone, if the power is out. Times have sure changed in the way things are done! Full speed ahead, (as well as Mother Nature allows us to be.) Prayers for all in the path of the approaching Hurricane.

Goal achieved. We got it all done. Many things gone, house cleaned out and sold. Things in storage, and we found a little condo to move into in another week. We're temporarily in a hotel for a few days. Super tired and exhausted, even the dog. Boy, this has been a struggle, and the struggle was 100% due to my lack of ability to sort through and properly get rid of stuff. Thank you to all who participated in this thread. Much helpful advice that encouraged me and enabled us to get this mission accomplished. I don't think it would've happened, otherwise.
