oxen im so glad you had such a wonderful report. Spotless! You should be very proud. I hope you can find a good job quickly and easily, its supposed to be a job seekers market right now. Then i hope you can move out of that hellhole. I hope it is cooling off where you are. Thank you so much for the encouragement! Another thing about needing to move from here is that that would be the only way I could get a working Service Dog. My parrot does fine in here but fuzzy animals probably get even hotter in this place than we people do. I am staying motivated to further pare down some stuff I do not need- while "spotless" in here, I can still downsize what I've got. Especially if I hope to move. I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum that my greatest organizing need is a larger clothing dresser and a bookcase. But these are solutions which require money. Though I found some nice, simple modern pieces that would go well together and not break my budget if I can wait until November-ish to buy them. For now, making increasingly tough decisions about what should stay or go feels fine to me. Which is a success all on its own! I am wishing everyone else some positive headway along their own bulldozing/ deep-cleaning/ tidying journey. No matter where we are, historically or currently on the clutter spectrum, you are a valuable human being and you deserve the good quality of life that a habitable home brings. ⭐Fondly⭐ oxen

oxen - sending you hugs of support while you go through this stress! Kudos to you for getting people to pay attention and do something. I relate to the stress of bringing stuff in from storage. For years I had stuff pressing in on a living space that I was trying to maintain for living. On the one hand, it's good to have it all in one place so you can deal with it, but it's depressing to have it around you and you can stall out because of that.

oxen, i just re-read your thread - how thoughtful you are of the other tenants in that h@llhole of heat and cockroaches. i wish they would mobilize with you because together you might have some clout with the deadbeat landlord and the authorities that oversee landlord violations. some states are better than others on tenant advocacy but dangers causing death to tenant are not something that can be ignored. WTG on getting your place spotless - no easy feat when you had all your stuff in there from storage - another big WTG on freeing yourself from that expense! (i have 3 of them ) having the goal of a service dog is motivating, as is moving. it sounds like you have done so much releasing already and are keeping your eyes on the prize...here's hoping you get a job that you love that PAYS and affords you the opportunity to go for these goals!
