Good morning! DD is off to the second day of school. She had a good first day and that makes me very happy. all was good, teachers and friends and classes. I had my team meeting at work/ I had higher hopes. Fed them snacks still they seemed so whiny.... Went to gym at lunch! Was trying to decide if I should wait to take a walk at night but I think it is important to move during the day as I have a desk job, it gets dark earlier now and I am having allergies again. Dinner was simple. Pizza for DD and leftovers for me I worked in basement and did my five things 1 stacked some totes 2 put some things in an empty tote 3 washed some totes 4 found some things to toss or donate 5. Took out some boxes to recycle I opened one tote and it was College stuff! Looked a bit but then firmly shut. No time to get lost in memories. I am now done with this side of the basement. It is not perfect but more orderly. I have realized that I made a lot of work for me by haphazardly putting things in totes through the years.. There is s general sense of theme, I guess, to tote contents. But lots of mixed up stuff. Several thoughts 1. I like opaque not see through totes. It is nice to get the quick visual but they just look messier to me 2. I wish I had bought totes of same size and color through the years 3. I am glad though that I color coded a bit by using red totes for Christmas things 4. I created hours and hours of work by saving papers I don’t need -from now on I am going to really make sure any paper that stays in my house is needed -filing worthless paper just creates work for later Now so far Up Fed cats Put away clean dishes Washed the new dishes DD wanted to buy today so no need to pack lunch Drive DD to school Now need to finish getting ready for work.

Good morning magda!
It sounds like you're making a lot of progress in the basement. I really agree with a couple of your conclusions--I hate see-through totes too--I feel like what's in them has to be arranged neatly so they don't look as messy, which is another added on job to do--so I have very few of them. I have a couple of clear plastic drawers in the kitchen, and I had to put pieces of paper in the inside front of them so they block the sight of what's inside. And I did the same as you did with keeping paper--figuring if I kept everything, I would never regret not having some piece of paper I needed. Well, I never needed any of the paper I kept, and if I had, I wouldn't have been able to find it anyway. I'm much more careful now about what I keep. But these lessons come with experience (and age!) I guess.
I have mid-day walks today but I don't have to go anywhere else. I'm finding that I'm staying in bed later on days when I have walks, because I know nothing much will get done before going out anyway. On my days off I'm eager to start my decluttering projects so I get up earlier.
TO DO:
Finish breakfast Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Either make bed or strip sheets--I keep planning to change the sheets so I don't make the bed, but then I don't change them.

magdaI am happy school is off to a good start for DD. She seems like a confident young woman to me. Usually food soothes the savage beasts. I am surprised people were still cranky after you fed them. The money I spend feeding staff to keep them happy. I usually like the see through bins because, duh, I can easily see what is in them. I do understand the concern about the contents looking messy though. I tried to keep all bins in the same color - but I find big box store changes colors every year or so - probably to sell more bins to people who like to keep things in bins all the same color! I do have red/green bins for Christmas and orange brown for fall. I have a light blue for spring/easter. I really am organized - in thought and process - I just have too much stuff to organize I need to stick to one spot and clean that area. but it is sliding things here and there and back...the shuffle game.

I have the shower curtain drying over the balcony. I had to cut off the bottom as I didn't want mould spots. Note to self, shower curtain needs washing regularly!
I did 2 more estimates both were for 2400sf homes that want a cheap rate. Not promising but it is what it is.
The rice mixed well with the last of the chili. I added 2 hard boiled eggs to stretch it and it was good. I had 30 free eggs from clients with chickens. So enjoying those.
I put a gel odor absorber in the spice cupboard its working great
Much cooler today.
Good to hear you are organized ohblondie. When I get in the zone I can move mountains! I'm probably 20% organized. Maybe a little more. I find I have to talk to myself about what needs doing. I feel odd explaining it.

I had 30 free eggs from clients with chickens. So enjoying those.Wow, they must have a lot of chickens! I wish I knew people with gardens, I would love some fresh produce right now. Only one time ever did a client offer me produce, he said I could pick as many tomatoes as I wanted while he was out of town. That's the time I went out to his yard and was so disappointed to see tiny tomatoes, I thought "well, he didn't tell me none of them were anywhere near big enough to pick." Then after a few seconds I realized that the tiny tomatoes were red instead of green--they were cherry tomatoes! And they were quite delicious. I'm home from my walks, they were enjoyable but I'm glad to be home. I'm turning into quite the hermit. I will figure something out for lunch and then start working. Diane

Hello everyone. Getting a late start today. Woke up with alarm at 7, ironed husb's clothes and saw him off to work. Felt really queasy, took some stomach pills, and went back to sleep. Glad I feel better.
It's a very weird time for me right now...it took 11 months for husb to find a job, and now that he's back to work, I find myself lonely to the point where it's kinda depressing. Considering I have clinical depression and I'm on meds for it, that's no big surprise , but it is an adjustment and I am going to have to put forth an effort to find companionship online, and this is a great place for it. This is a great place to plug the chatzy SOOS chat room and oh how I would love to see more people using it. I work for 15 minutes, then break for 15 (or less if my back cooperates) and it's so nice to have company, support, and motivation. If you want the link send me a PM (it's for SOOS members only and this area of the forum is public), or look on Shoutbox and you'll see it on one of my numerous posts. Yes, I am NEEDY. They say admitting it is the first step toward getting help .
DONE fed/watered catface pilled catface pilled me bank acct #1 done, spreadsheet updated paid one bill canceled Starz subscription
NEXT UP vac bedroom bank acct #2 and spreadsheet finish paying bills
Just going to give everyone a bunch of these for now since I'm starting so late and need to get cracking!

Hi SetMeFree, I have found that the site has been slow for all of August, maybe things will pick back up for the fall. I remember that lots of people wanted to chat, so I would think you would have lots of company. I personally don't like chat rooms, they are too much for me, I can't keep track of multiple conversations. I do enjoy threads that are busy though, it's a little like chat but not as fast paced. There was a time the dice game thread had a lot of participants and I really enjoyed that. It's hard to get several people together at the same time though, due to different time zones and schedules.
Alright, I've prolonged my lunch break as long as I can, time to get moving.
When I came home I passed the alley behind our building and see our new dumpsters have arrived! So that's the first job.
TO DO:
Take stinky garbage, etc. out to alley Clean up from lunch Wash cat food dishes 5 minutes on books

Got a long call from my sister. Her phone still doesn't work. I told her she can return it and they'll give a replacement, or return it for a refund and try to get a replacement faster by asking someone to take her to the store. She is thinking about it, even though it makes her very anxious to be without the cell phone.

Home early from work. I had a late afternoon drs appointment.
I dove into the LR....almost literally.... And I found a crochet hook. I was looking for it. It was right in my knitting basket with some yarn, knitting needles and a pencil pouch with crochet hooks and such. Me for the win!
Cleaned out 4 purses/bags piled in the LR. Now to out them away.
Pulled together some outfits for next week.
The most random things I do!

I fixed up the balcony some more
I have the old fabric shower curtain re purposed as a rug. Irs ivory with a gold design on it. I like it. I put the round walnut end table in the center (free from a move out Cleaning) The light that changes color is hidden behind it. A plant that has fairy lights in is on the table. I just need batteries to light it up. I may have the fanciest balcony around! Re purposed decor is the best. I had fun putting it all together

Oust, your balcony sounds lovely--I envy you for having one. Does it have a roof, so you can sit out there when it rains? That's what I would like the most.
