OK I'm back. Been AWOL just because..... too *** hot. Ya'll know I've been busy with garden and chicken things and haven't done a lick of house stuff.... Besides the heat the house is depressing... I've lost all energy and enthusiasm for almost everything I haven't even been able to make myself do 5 min anywhere....
I feel you on the layers thing Diane; around here seems like I skimmed off a layer earlier in the summer only to have 2 or 4 new ones piled on top now....

Hello mary! I thought of you yesterday or the day before while perusing weather maps, I noticed the Phoenix temperature was 107. It sounded even worse because we've been so comfortable lately, I felt bad! It's got to end soon though, doesn't it? When does it normally start getting cooler? Did you ever hear from the well driller? I've been working back and forth between bedroom books and plant room cabinet. I have the shelf part off the cabinet and in the kitchen--I will resist trying to find another place to put it, I want these things out! I'm going to put this piece in the dumpster because it has some water damage on the bottom and a chip at the top. When it comes to moving the cabinet out I'm not sure if I can do it--I'll see what shape it's in. If I get rid of it I'll just take it apart and move it out in pieces. If I want to move it somewhere else I guess I'll have to figure out how to move it--the space it has to go through to get out of the room is narrow. I need to get more recycling out to the dumpster tonight and I just don't feel like it. Diane

Hi Mary, welcome back.
I did another I'm tidying this dang mess today. Probably about an hour altogether I even took out the trash and recycling. I'm glad I did. Chipping away all adds up
Also washed the dishes Steam cleaned the bathroom sink repeatedly. It was in need of a long clean. And the toilet got another steam. I don't think the bathroom has ever been this good. And with the shower curtain washed n bleached, it's a overall improvement. Yay for repeated Cleanings instead of one huge one. Baby steps.

Okay I made a list on my blog, and have been plugging away. I feel good about my progress. I need to steam my bathroom, cause guests.
I forgot that my medium sized suitcase broke. So I guess I'm taking a large and small one. The weather will be sunny and hot. Okay dinner is ready!

Oust and scholar, good work on your progress today!
I've been sitting here looking at my father's army uniform. I'm ready to get rid of it. It takes up a lot of space, and it's another thing that I don't necessarily associate with him, I never saw him wearing it. I suppose I might have a photo of him in the jacket, but honestly, I don't need to keep it. I feel weird throwing it away, but there are many army uniforms out there in thrift stores. It smells musty too. I guess it's something that will sit out here for a while before I can let it go.
I looked through the pockets (there's a jacket and an overcoat) and in one pocket I found some old nails...and in another I found a one franc coin dated 1942.
Okay, I'm at the end of my decision making ability for today. I'm happy with what I got done though, the cabinet is next to the other storage cube on my bedroom dresser. I put books in the cabinet from 2 of the stacks of boxes that were there instead, 2 more stacks to look at tomorrow. That includes about a dozen books that I'm getting rid of, and I will talk myself into getting rid of (most of) the boxes I just emptied too. It's going to look so much neater in the bedroom when this project is finished. Time for dinner.

Thanks Diane!
Much to my surprise, I just did my list:
Washed dishes Brought trash and recycling bins back to the house Cleaned litter
Also did five tiny things in basement: Picked up some stuff off the floor Found some things to discard Found some things to wash Cleaned part of top of dryer Sorted a little bin
Now to head off to bed -falling asleep on couch gave me a mini second round but I am drowsy

Thanks oust and Diane. I'm grateful to have a place here where I can rant a bit and let off some steam. Thank you for that. When I was a kid by Sep it was cooling off, back in the low 80s at least, with a hard frost at Halloween and snow for Thanksgiving. That hasn't happened in over 10 years. The past 2-3 years it hasn't froze hard until nearly Thanksgiving and now snow until Christmas or even sometime in January.
It's Sat and today is market. I don't have hardly anything right now, even eggs are way down. We are supposed to have rain Mon but not holding my breathe.
