Now I have to go back to the dentist for a filling, to the skin doctor for a head to toe exam, get a sonogram on my legs for bad veins, and do the in home colon test. The only thing that I have not scheduled is the menopause test to see where I'm at in terms of how much estrogen my body has available. I understand that when levels are low then there is a concern for your bones and possible fractures after estrogen has not been bio available for a 10 year period.

Thanks for making this thread, def6! It baffles me that my body is my most important "thing," but I take care of everything else first! I have been going to my primary, and got my insurance sorted out, at least for this year, which is almost over. Who knows what will happen for next year? Such a mess. I got an eye appt and new glasses this year, yay! I just picked up a refill when I went shopping, instead of letting it run out and not taking it for six months. Yay! I need all kinds of labs and testing that's long overdue. And the dentist, and the GYN.

You've done a great job so far larataylor All you need now is a few minutes on the phone and your calendar and a pen. I've got my appointments scheduled and on the calendar. I feel like I've done much as I can to straighten myself out. It is a good feeling! I'm happy to report a very good experience yesterday having blood taken for blood work. I had to fast for 8 hours...I got up early , no coffee - got dressed and drove to "Quest diagnostics" expecting a very bad time. I went in ..there were only about 4 people in the waiting room. To my surprise, I got called back in about 10 minutes, the lady was nice , It didn't hurt and she didn't ask for any money. Bonus points: I didn't bruise!

Hello Everyone, I'm still on this health care kick and loving it I take Dear Daughter to the gyn Doc today, just for a check up. I got my in-home "colon test" kit last night. I'm trying to be mature about this.

yeah, that colon test turns out to be easy peasy. but still, I keep letting mine expire. Need to order a new one!
I've been unearthing files as I'm working on my packing project. Might have found the one I need last night! Thanks for helping me stay accountable, def6!

Congrats for finding files that you need mylittlescholar Moving is exciting...may it enrich your life! Only 1 small filling to go..then I'll be through at the Dentist for a while. After that, I go to the dermatologist, which I feel fine about because the Doc is a female.

At my 3 month check in with my endocrinologist. She was reviewing my old paperwork as they just switched to a new system. Turns out my primary doc diagnosed me with gallstones 5 years ago AND NEVER TOLD ME.

Hello ohblondie Yikes! Same here. They did a scan on me when I had a hernia (about 2013) and found stones in my gall bladder. I'm happy that I have not had a gall bladder attack yet but I know I should start looking in to having it removed. I get a small filling today at the dentist. She doesn't even use anything to deaden it..no Novocain. I will ask her about a dental implant that I have been needing since forever ago.

I remember that dr appointment 5 years ago. They thought I had pneumonia so they did a chest CT. The CT went a little low and inadvertently included part of my abdomen. The doctor could not figure out what the white specks were. He told me they were probably nothing and I didn't need to worry. Yikes - so I have had gallstones all along. This does answer a few questions though. Hurray for no Novocain. My dermatologist appointment is next week. Bing bang boom - just slowly working through these necessary appointments to take care of myself - thanks to def6!!!!

We are on the same kick right now...must be a "Virgo thing" ohblondie. Release the 3 Dancing Elephants I just got my tooth filled at the dentist. She is actually very supportive (I know that sounds funny) but usually I feel raked over the coals so to speak ...but when She gets done with me ...I feel very blessed. I did ask her for a referral to the oral surgeon to get a dental implant . I have already made an appointment for a consultation. This is really big for me...I don't like to spend this kind of money on myself...But I'm changing my mind on that front. I see the dermatologist a week from today. Thanks!

Go Virgos!
Today my goals include getting a flu shot and turning in a request for records and maybe a request for financial aid (not sure how much paperwork is required to complete first). I shall report back!

You go mylittlescholar For being proactive in the taking-care-of-you. Needles and tons of paperwork will not dissuade us! Not having one's own health records will not dissuade us.
