what a good start, everyone! WTG! i slept in this morning late because i went to bed very late. so far i have: made bed scooped cat box and wrote in cat's notebook gave cat a flea treatment and fed him i'd like to make some headway on all the neglects and piles today while the weather is still too wet to garden. things i want to work on this weekend besides the obvious maintenance where i can maintain: (the rest is sorting and working on big and small neglects) start dismantling the piles on loveseat and floor around it work on the big bedroom pile stacked against the bookcase work on several sewing projects start on a new consignment and donation clothing bag start filling a new donation box sweep in bedroom and entry hall water and groom all houseplants water deck plants make a soup - the cooler weather is making me long for soup. farmers market, maybe. i need produce. those are the goals and i may focus on other projects but as TML says, i'll have to break those down into baby steps. maybe with the help of a timer. what i want to achieve is a balance between unfinished sewing hanging over my head and housework/making inroads with the hoard.

I would like to make progress in the boxes of stuff. We are up to 5 boxes now.
I used the rice cooker to make red lobster cheese biscuits. It steamed 2 mixes really well. Apparently rice cookers are capable of much more than just rice
One pot clean up. Works for me.
Did a quick tidy, nothing major. Set up a quote for tomorrow business is up! Feel sleepy again. Talked to B about where we're at In life. Cleaning business is going to need 2 people.

Good afternoon lennon!
Talked to B about where we're at In life.
That sounds like a heavy discussion, oust.
Hello CC! How was the talent show? What kind of houseplants do you have? After a long time only being able to have a few plants because of always having many cats, this past spring I started collecting succulents, mostly babies. They will not exactly thrive living inside in the midwest (I do have grow lights) but I just love them.
I moved the laundry to the dryer and stopped for lunch. My apartment is now officially too chilly, it's down to 69.
When I'm done eating I'm going to work on emptying the LR chair of miscellany.

great job, oust on food and chores; you're making me hungry! that's a good list, lennon - i need to join you on a lot of those things. dtesposito, i mostly have succulents and easy to grow things. Christmas cactus, chinese evergreen, spider plants, orchids. i am not good with houseplants like i am with outdoor plants. it's dark in here and so things suffer - i have been thinking of eliminating most of my houseplants, actually. but like you, i adore succulents! i bet grow lights really help. it's cold in the apt so my houseplants don't like me in winter but most succulents are semi-dormant in winter so it would work out better if i had less else to take care of. my cat is so good about not eating plants, as most of these are poisonous to cats. the talent show was fun - and some kids really WERE talented - but i give them all an A++ for getting up there at all. i'm terrified of public speaking and the stage. well i started on sewing; threaded a bobbin, worked on quilting on a mini quilt and am sewing some rows together on a baby quilt. that took an hr and already it's almost 1. ahem. so i stopped that. next i think i will go to the farmers market or at least the grocery. i need vegies. then i can focus here. biab.

We just got home from the library.
While there, I worked on a very difficult and challenging financial issue that I need to resolve. I have been putting it off for about 10 years! And the delay has negative consequences. So it was very stressful. I am not yet done but made some headway and created a framework to help me make a tricky decision.
As part of that process, I purged a folder and did some shredding and recycling when we arrived at home. I am going to count each one in the 2019 thread because they were hard won
DD is up in her room to “do nothing” and chill with her computer. I had a snack and I am on the couch with boycat and girlcat nearby
I am stressed over several issues right now. The serenity prayer is what I have been thinking about.

Happy weekend, everypony!
I didn't go to sleep until about 8:00 am. Then slept until 2:00 pm. The cold front FINALLY got here! we were worried, it was 75*F at 6:00 am this morning, and humid, but we can feel the cooler air blowing in. We are still above average by about as much as y'all are below average.
This morning I reviewed my numbers w/ DXH, and he helped me come up with a plan for December. We are thinking about postponing listing the house until February, but I still want to go through and repack my stuff before Thanksgiving. Some friends might be renting some rooms, so I need to be outta here. Fortunately we do have space for storage.
I have some spreadsheets to create, both for me and another type for DM. So that's my main goal today, beyond unpacking and maintenance.

Magda, good luck with your financial decisions. You have a daughter to worry about so you have to consider her future security as well as your own. CC, I have bad light in my apartment too, I wouldn't be able to have succulents without grow lights. I haven't had access to any outside space for growing for at least 30 years, so I have to indulge my plant love indoors. Over the years I've had young cats who would do anything to sabotage my plants, so I had to cut way back. It wasn't til the cats got really old that they stopped being interested in getting at the plants. In doing my own self-psycho-analysis I realize that once it occurred to me that I could have more plants now, my succulent acquisition from spring on is related to the fact that my old cat was failing--I think I was subconsciously stocking the house with living things that needed care because I knew he would be gone before another year ended.
I love these succulents though, they are the "oddballs" of the plant kingdom and they're fascinating.
I cleared off my LR chair except for a box of greeting cards and spare envelopes. I keep putting that off because it's contained and seems like there are other things I could be doing, but now I think I need to do another sweep of my greeting card inventory--I could get spare Christmas cards out to the little library in time for someone to use them. Next: Cat feeding Wash more cat food dishes Hang up clothes from dryer Clean up from lunch Diane

Scholar, postponing a needed move isn't always good, but I think it makes more sense to list a home after the holidays--you will certainly get more attention then. As long as you don't relax and put off the pack/purge because you have more time. Diane

I was working on going through greeting cards and I noticed that it was getting dark a little too quickly. So I looked at the weather site and the radar showed a big yellow spot coming towards us quickly. I was still 45 minutes away from leaving for my walk so I called my senior client and asked her if I could come early to avoid the worst of the rain. Luckily she was home and said yes, so I got ready and got there almost half an hour early. It was drizzling a little already, and for a few minutes it was heavier rain, but at least it wasn't pouring like it looks like it's going to.
So I got home early, and am now eating dinner, after I finish I guess I'll start getting ready for bed already. I would like to work on the cards some more before I go to bed, though.
