It's another Monday! One thing about Mondays - they come along every 7 days........ Another thing about Mondays - to me they are a chance to start over!! I overslept this am - but still managed to get up, shower, set my hair in hot rollers, get dressed (did not lay out my clothes so I was scrambling, fed the dog and dumped chicken into the crockpot. I added cream of chicken soup, onion and chopped up carrots fo chicken and dumplings. tonight I have a meeting (I still have to prepare the notes from the last meeting), pick up my DD's dog and bring to my house for a quick play date with Cali. She has a dr's apt and will pick him up on her way back through. But dinner will be in the crock pot all warm and comforting.

Good morning ohblondie, thanks for starting the thread. I'm amazed that even though you woke up late you were able to prepare the crockpot dish before leaving, you will be so glad later on.
I was hoping that with the really early night I had Saturday that I would be able to repeat it last night, but I couldn't fall asleep early--I had to keep putting the light back on and reading some more, I just wasn't tired. So I still got up later. But I'll keep trying to adjust my sleep schedule, I really want to make it earlier.
I'm eating breakfast and then will decide what to do next.

I decided to go ahead and go to the library and to the expensive store for water. It shouldn't take long, I hope it doesn't knock me out for the day the way the longer walks do. I can't leave yet because the library isn't open til 10.
Next:
Get shopping cart and bag ready Get little library books ready to go Get recycling ready to go out Brush teeth

Good morning ohblondie and thanks for starting the thread! Hi Diane, I hope you enjoy your library visit and walk I woke up nearly two hours early. I suspect a cat was involved! I am kind of tired as I had five hours of sleep and I could use more... So I showered early Fed cats Put away clean dishes Set breakfast dishes to soak Emptied the trash and took to bin Drove dd to school Swept the floor And then I plunked on couch with a cup of coffee! Even though I was up about two hours early, I was five minutes late for work!! It is not a real big deal here, but I like to be a bit early to set a good example for some truly time-challenged team members: I donβt want to encourage them at all. I need to set a home deadline for leaving and just deal.

This is getting ridiculous- my milestone birthday continues! here at work, my company hosts monthly birthday coffee hours for the birthday people. So had that nice break.
Got some pricing for an important project
Sent some emails
Approved a few things to move small projects along
Put some money in DD lunch account- she texted - it was zero balance.
Next Make a list of all my work projects
At lunch go pay a bill at a credit union

Good morning magda! my milestone birthday continuesMaybe you can keep up the celebration til your next birthday! I'm home from my walk, it was nice, cool and lots of leaves on the ground. My toe seemed to be getting better on Saturday, hurt more on Sunday, today it's a little better again. The bruising is all gone except a little sliver of blue between the toe and the next one, but it's still swollen and that weird fluid blister is still there. It's not that bad walking though, it actually hurts more at home when I turn suddenly or hit my foot into something. I'm going to try to spend the next two hours on lists and then have lunch. TO DO: Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Put water away Put cart and bag away Diane

Trying to have some semblance of a "normal" day here, but things keep popping up that have to do with the whole ugly separation, etc. I really wish I could just delete the part of my brain where the emotions reside, because I am grieving really badly and it makes everything that much harder. Would love to have a male brain right now to compartmentalize things and not feel like I'm getting kicked in the stomach every few hours.

I do kind of like the ongoing festivities π₯³
Went out at lunch to pay a bill at a credit union that is next to a Walmart, so as much as I am not fond of that store, I bought some hair care supplies and some food items I forgot at the grocery storeβ also some Halloween candy because DD and her friend started snacking on my first supply!
Now back at work and someone dropped in to tell me a company big shot wants some information yesterday, so I have to churn out a write up ASAP.
First will refuel w coffee.
Meanwhile, asked a staffer to do something -letβs call it X -a very straight forward and small non-rush task. Email arrived back telling me heβd stop by with some data I emailed politely saying not necessary, please just do X He shows up asking what I want done X Really what do I want? X Do you want me to go do X Yep
Ugh!!

Oh man, magda, I would have to ask the staffer how you could have communicated that better (obviously nothing wrong with how you communicated it), but I would certainly force staffer to see the error of his ways and the time he wasted by not just doing X. Seriously, they are never going to change if they don't know they need to. I always made it look like I was doing them a favor by asking their advice to avoid it happening again. And of course staffer is going to see he was clearly instructed to do X, but for some reason needed to be so obtuse and unproductive. I am almost glad I got sick and was forced out of the corporate world by my health issues when I read the shenanigans going on. I get unpleasant flashbacks . Hello SetMeFree! I hope that as time goes by the grieving lessens and dealing with things becomes easier. Although I don't know if that will happen until things are settled legally--I'm sure you have to think about it all the time. Are you making any headway in sorting/releasing stuff? Do you think you'll have to move someplace smaller eventually?
Magda, I was never in the corporate world, but when I worked for the animal shelter I managed lots of staff--in a way it was better because most of the people there had the goal of helping animals and that made a much better feeling between people. However, since we were a small non-profit the pay was low and there were a lot of entry-level people who were just graduated from high school and had never had a job before. So besides teaching the actual job there was teaching "how to have a job", which was so much harder! Then, once people learned that, they ended up leaving for better-paying jobs, because they had no choice, they had to pay their bills. Although I must say, when people who did well and grew into great employees that was very rewarding. But I don't miss the few people that just didn't work out and who had to be written up and warned and then finally fired--and you knew who they were going to be pretty early on--the ones who had to be constantly watched because you had to tell them over and over again to DO THEIR JOB.
I spent a while on the ACA website, it looks like once again I'm best off sticking with my current insurance for another year, there isn't anything better on offer. After I did that my sister called, we talked for quite a while. She took her dog in today to have her sutures taken out, she's entirely back to normal and enjoyed the vet visit. My sister says when they go into the reception room the dog always jumps up and puts her paws up on the counter to "check herself in"! The receptionists get a kick out of that.
Then I had lunch, and now I'm going to use a 3-minutes timer. That usually kicks me into moving faster, since I'm changing focus often, although I often end up doing more than 3 minutes on something once I get started.

Hi lennon!
I spent a long time on books--I found another 10 books I can get rid of, and I'm seeing what I need to pack up to take to my sister's. My shopping friend offered me a ride out there some time in the next couple of weeks, as long as it doesn't snow... It's a long drive and I am very grateful, and would like to bring not only the things I've been saving to get to my sister, but also a few bags of my own stuff that I won't need for now...I'd really hate to get a ride in a car and not take advantage of it, even though it's very early.
Next:
10 more minutes on books Hang up laundry from dryer Go through a file folder Cut up bread to take to park
