Hi Diane and happy Saturday to you.
I am going to try to get a few things done today. Very slowly, and trying to not think about of ALL THE THINGS because ALL THE THINGS are making me very overwhelmed and kinda crazy-pants.
I am going to start with the basics and that is
TO DO make coffee empty DW fill DW
I will be checking back in here frequently because I could really use the motivation and support.

Hi Diane and SetMeFree! Happy weekend! Yesterday I had one more milestone birthday dinner! Very fun, great restaurant. And tonight one more, this is the final one with a colorful cast of characters- extended family. Should be an adventure. Then I am a private citizen again! Today I dont have a plan. Laundry and paying bills. I had to actually do a stash and dash last night of my dining room table -it was not horrible but had mail and school stuff scattered. I did not have time to neatly put away in my little window of time between getting home from work and going out to dinner. So I plan to sort that out today. I am getting so many coupons in the mail from retailers - it is that season they cause clutter for me. Instead of putting right in recycling I think oh I better take a look. And thus a stack is born!

Good morning SetMeFree. Baby steps work when you feel overwhelmed or paralyzed or unmotivated, or all three. If you're feeling all three, then every baby step is a huge accomplishment.
Good morning magda--back when I used to buy things from catalogues, I would dread this season because starting even before now there would be between 2 and 5 catalogues in the mail every single day. And of course, I'd feel like I had to look through every one just in case I missed that one amazing, spectacular item that I couldn't do without. Now that I order things online only, I get almost no paper catalogues, just lots of email advertising--so that's an improvement. Although I must admit, the catalogues were fun to look through, somehow a little more fun than online--maybe because I'm remembering the Montgomery Wards Christmas catalogue from my childhood days, which I used to look at for hours and hours.
I have to run out for a little while, I'll be back later.
Diane

I like looking through catalogs too. Mostly what I am receiving nowadays are flyers from stores with cardboard coupons attached to them so I feel obliged to grab them and they have that glue on the back...I am not a big shopper. I donβt like to shop. I only do when I have to. But I like to save money when I do!
Fed cats Washed dishes Put away clean dishes Started laundry Made bed Reheated coffee

Ok so I made coffee, fed and watered catface, and filled some particularly yucky bowls with hot water to soak before I can put them in the dishwasher. magda your group of extended family/friends sounds so wonderful. I hope you have a raucous and crazy dinner tonight surrounded by laughter and love. dtesposito I too miss looking through the fat catalogs (we had a place called "Service Merchandise" here) but I am very glad they aren't clogging up my mailbox and trash can. I have to be honest and confess that every single thing I need to do is covered with resentment and dread. I can be honest here, as I know I am far from the only person here that feels this way. I resent the actual physical mess he left me with, ever-so-conveniently leaving JUST as we were able to start unpacking from the exterminator. I can't even LIFT some of these totes. But, hey, as long as HE'S got his freedom and "happiness", what does it matter the cost and who pays? But, I'm NOT bitter. DONE coffee feed/water catface soak uglies UP NEXT go over to listzilla and do a brain dumptake time to enjoy my coffee round up stray bowls/mugs and soak if needed get water in fridge

I can't quite believe this, but my second cat is gone. I had made an appointment for November 11th for his recheck because his regular vet wasn't available til then, but he'd been doing badly the last few days and I called yesterday to see if they had any openings with any vet today. Turns out he had a "probable" nasal tumor--they did an x-ray but said he would need a CT scan to be sure.
But his recent symptoms were totally consistent with a tumor, and he was dealing with so many other issues I was not about to prolong it any further. I'm not totally shocked, I had a bad feeling yesterday that I might not be bringing him home. But I can't believe I had both these cats for so long and then I lost them both within one month and one day of each other.
This is the first time in 40 years that I have not had a cat in the house. Thank goodness for the birds--they're being really noisy and active right now and that's what I need to hear.
I'm going to keep working on my books today, that will keep me busy.
Diane

I'm so sorry Diane - what a blow! We lost two between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year - very hard.
Sounds like you made the right decision as difficult as it was. Hope the birds continue to cheer you and you can get some hands on cuddling with your dog clients.
Hugs PC

Good afternoon, everypony!
(((SetMeFree ))) yay for baby steps. you can do this!
I love what you said, about the cure for paralysis, overwhelm and lack of motivation, Diane! That makes so much sense.
I bet you'll have fun, magda . My DB and DF are celebrating their birthdays this weekend. I was able to get a gift to DB on time, a vintage Star Wars item that he asks for every holiday and searches for at every thrift store. eBay for the win!
I am feeling a lot better today, phew. Last night I worked on a non-packing, but urgent, downsizing-related item, which is getting my give-away party invites out. I am waiting for one more address, and then they can go!
DONE: caffeinated hydrated medicated checked online balance transferred rent, etc. checked messages and replied requested contact info updated lists checked notifications and replied flipped laundry
