Hi Ally and this is an interesting thought that you shared: "I've been really struggling to find motivation to declutter my home lately. DH was clearly annoyed that I can quite easily pick up trash for adopt-a-highway and not declutter my own home. I've been pondering this quite a bit over the past 24 hours." I personally think it's much easier to clean up places/items that we're not attached to. I don't think I could compare cleaning up a highway where there is obvious trash that would get picked up and discarded, with decluttering a home, which involves difficult decision making and emotions when deciding what to let go of and what to keep and what to do with items in both categories. Good luck!! I'm hyper-aware of this right now, as I help my father dispose of my mother's things and other items, like in the kitchen there were ancient spices and cookware with the aluminum shining through the Teflon coating. I'm focused on making things easier on Dad and cleaning up dirt that he can't see (until he gets a new prescription!) It's a lot easier to vacuum and mop the floor in his big house than my little one because it's for him. On the other hand, I want to relax in my own home. When I shared a rental, there was a bit of a power-struggle about whether I was the "clean one" or the one who got to relax. Nowadays, the only thing keeping me going most days is a sense of embarrassment when people come over (work crew tomorrow; family the week after next).

TA-DA 1. Hunted all the cleaning stuff; found most of it in a now-accessible cupboard. Am rethinking the storage. 2. Hydrated 3. Went out to church, dropped off stuff, and went to lunch 4. Contacted customer service about a refund I still hadn't gotten; just received it and am contemplating how to spend the giftcard refund because this has reminded me why I quit their services last year! 5. Answered mail 6. Called my father
TO DO 1. Hunt all the loose books that are in the livingroom and make snap decisions 2. Dishes #3 3. Clean the stovetop

Good Morning missjean and goldenthreads! ta-da's: Logged into a virtual work meeting. These are mostly targeted to about 95% of the staff in our department... I'm in the remaining 5%, in a separate specialty, but we are still supposed to attend. I took my laptop to the kitchen and fixed my breakfast and loaded the dishwasher while listening in. Watched a video on finding motivation to declutter, where they used a timer. Then shredded/sorted papers for 10 minutes Put some laundry away to-do: Take some scraps out to the compost Feed the chickens (I gave them a piece of watermelon rind earlier) More decluttering CLA meeting in 15 minutes, then spend a little time in BIT. (I haven't been posting much, but have still been going through the book very slowly.)

Hi, Ally! Good job on multitasking that meeting. I've been putting things back after the A/C installers left. They also found and fixed the cause of the condensation leaking onto the closet floor. There's even a chance that I'll have a rebate coming. TA-DA 1. Found the checkbook & wrote the check for the company; checked my numbers and made sure I have enough in my account afterwards to see me through. 2. Cleared the "hot spot" from the livingroom 3. Threw out quite a lot of papers 4. Logged into MY mandatory online class for work to look at the assignments. Reformatted one of my flashdrives to bring files home from my workplace, if everything hasn't been dismantled for the "deep clean". 5. Laundry 6. Cleaned and put away all the dishes, pans, etc. TO DO 1. Head to work as soon as it stops raining 2. Laundry into dryer 3. Vacuum and possibly mop the utility room floor

Hi Goldenthreads
Here i half filled a contractor bag with trash and bits of stuff and took it to the compactor I hand washed the 5 plates we own and dried them on the rack in the DW I cut DH's hair and my hair layers too Had a short walk to the pool to see on one was there because the weather is so crazy with thunderstorms Overall not too bad in here considering i don't spend a great deal of time collecting trash like i had to before. I guess once its gone its gone...
