Hello, Ally and everyone else. Well, I did something uncharacteristic. Yesterday a friend asked me if I wanted any pots or pans she was getting rid of. At first I said no, and then I looked at them and said yes. They're in better shape than the ones I have in this apartment, which are a combination of mine and my landlord's. So now I need to figure out what to get rid of, and where to put these. I don't want to have a jammed drawer the way beesnest did the other day. I've had that before and don't want to deal with it. Pay bill. Get dressed. Declutter 15 things. Wash dishes. Inflate tires. Wash the new pots and pans. Go for a walk.

goldenthreads, Oh, new pots and pans! That's great! Last fall when I did the Unlcuttered course, one of our assignments was to go through the kitchen, and get rid of excess. If there were somethings we hadn't used recently, but were unsure of, we were supposed to box them up, and store them away for a bit. If, after a couple of months, we found we didn't need the objects, they should be tossed or donated. (Of course, my boxes are still in my house, but I do intend to get rid of them. ta-da: Put dishes into dishwasher Made and ate some lunch, Chickens: Fed and filled waterer Got the mail to-do: Go to greenhouse to get lettuce for chickens. He said he'd give me a few tomatoes too. Water houseplants Gardening chores? Declutter for 10 minutes?

Day 2/98 Sun TaDa Miss Thang was being rowdy & imperative. So, I scooped the downstairs cat litter. She settled down. Yup, she's the boss & lets me know it. Day 3/97 Mon TaDa empty drainer cut off the neck of the gauze nightgown, the front was choke-y. Cut a new strip (measured my head) Sewed on the new neck finish Sewed the bottom on 5 basket liners When I folded the clean rags, I found 4 dishcloths that had been relegated. Also, 2 rag towels, hand size, were losing their bits below the bands. Another rag was getting holey. I serged the 4 dishcloths into 2, back into kitchen they go I cut bits of a flannel sheet, and sewed the hand towels to the flannel. Why? well, I lost mom over 30 yrs ago. When she & dad went to Mexico vacation, she brought me back these 3 pink hand towels. Yup. two of those. Good for another two years of ragging, I figure. I sewed the holey one in half & trimmed the ragged holey end. Link to Prairie Moon Quilt blog: 100 things in 100 daysSo, Sept 23 is 100 days from end of year. Granted, Shelly's goals are needlework centered. I'm using it to put myself in a better place in my home before the end of the year. Also needlework & garments, but my focus is household. I got an amazing amount done (for me) Saturday & Sunday. Both laundry & dishes are DONE. I had backlog in both areas. I still have laundry backlog. Not garments, but things like bags of wool scarves, hats, wool blankets, that I've done without for at least 2 winters. I didn't read about the 100 days until late Sunday. But, since I accomplished so much, I don't feel "behind." I'm not starting a new thread, I'll just track it here in WIPS. Unless someone else likes this idea & wants a separate thread. "If you build it, they will come!" I'll join you there if you do.

Mon TaDa Grocery shop Put away cold Day 4/96 Tues 9-26 TaDa Trash Day House gathered, out The imbeciles at Maytag thought it would be a good idea to snap clear plastic front on a plastic veg bin. Do they not know fruit/veg are 90+ percent water. When fruit/veg melt, the puddle oozes through the door. You expect the bin to be ick. But now the bottom of the fridge, the bottom of the door (including the seal) AND the floor are evidence of aspirational food. Yea, idiots. Same fridge, same imbeciles, the freezer door clips holding the tilt basket clip UP. Open the freezer door hard enough, clips disengage, basket & frozen tumbles to the floor. Anyway, thank goodness for extra wide heavy duty aluminum foil. I learned quickly to line the stupid bins. Lifted veg soup into double trash bag, to bin. Put away pantry groceries

Kudos for facing and dealing with the refrigerator mess, mouseanne. Sorry about being stuck with the lousy design. Sometimes I wonder if designers are actual users of their products. (Looking at you, kitchen cupboard and closet makers.) Started dishes soaking. Made bed and had meds. Washed dishes. Pay bill.Get dressed.Declutter 15 things. Wash dishes. Inflate tires.Wash the new pots and pans. Go for a walk.

Thanks goldenthreads, it wasn't too bad, all I had to do was lift out the foil. I just had to kvetch about the poor design. Hi! yrwelcomeDay 4/96 Tues 9-26 TaDa sewed edge casing for drawstrings on 5 basket linings hemming foot stitched 10 yards of selvedges for drawstrings threaded the drawstrings Linings to laundry room to re-vamp the laundry shelves lost a cat, climbed the stairs twice, no go kept hearing! Ah! climbed again, sure enough, she went in the garment closet I opened to put away summer/get out winter Yup. lil beast.
