Scholar, enjoy your guests!
Bree, I love when you leave your cats' comments in your post!
I fed the dog again and she finally wanted to go out. It's been drizzling all day so it's muddy out there, and of course she picked the muddy spots to walk in so I had to clean her feet when she came in.
I'm annoyed because I'm expecting a package and it started out as UPS, but was switched over to the USPS. Last night at 8:30 I got an email from UPS saying the package was delivered at 7pm. I know it wasn't delivered at 7pm because after I take the dog out I always go check the front porch and then make sure the doors are locked. When I clicked on the tracking information it went to the UPS page where it said it was delivered, so I figured I'd better fill in the claim information in case it really doesn't show up, otherwise they would ask why I waited to do that since the package didn't come. I filled out all the information including value of the items, and after clicking the final button it says I can't file a claim since it was handed off to the USPS! So, good luck contacting the post office to ask what's happening. I'm going to assume that they marked it delivered ahead of time to save time while delivering today, they seem to do that a lot. But, who knows? Plus, since it was already marked delivered they can't do it again when they actually do deliver it, and it's drizzling, so if they leave it on the porch without telling me it'll get wet. So now I have to keep checking the porch even though I have no idea if it will be delivered.
I had lunch and a movie break.
Next:
10 minutes on plants 10 minutes PEEPing Start dishes soaking Delete 10 emails

so glad you had some time to relax with a friend, bree! the night before last, my goal was to slow down yesterday, but honestly it was hard.
SO thrilled that it turned out sunny and warm today. earlier in the week it was supposed to rain.
I have been working non-stop, but can't really cross much off because I like to do a bit of this and a bit of that. but things are all staged, so to speak--its the final decisions I find challenging.
DVD made room in the office for the cat tree, so he can look out the window. I've been feeling badly that he didn't have kitty TV, but now that is done! I think the cat is in the attic as I have been going up and down.
DVD also put batteries in the fake candles.
DONE: sorted laundry
put a load of towels in the laundry
brought many boxes, bins and bags to the attic swapped around lightbulbs because I broke the brittle vintage lampshade took that outside to be repaired later tidied up my office swapped out the small and medium crock pots filled the coffee resevoirs brought empty boxes etc up to attic adjusted the Christmas Doll and put her in the niche pulled my stuff from the spare rack straightened up the couch and chair stashed in the laundry/garden room brought in all the red and green melamine dishes dug through bins and boxes for Christmas paper plates put all the dishes together on the spare table
brought in green plastic tablecloth roll
NEXT UP: bring chairs into LR put plastic on the floor where the chairs were
put spare appliances on the floor put together kitchen table
put together serving table
I need to start getting dressed in 45 minutes. I guess I'll skip the grocery store run. and the last of the outdoor decorating.

Ugh! I just wasted an entire hour. I saw a notice that Quaker granola bars are being recalled for salmonella so I clicked the link to report it and get a refund. I filled out my information and then they wanted a photo of my store receipts or a photo of the package. I ordered them online so don't have a receipt, so I took a photo of the package with my phone and tried to transfer it to my computer. Well, I realized that I have not tried to do this since they made me switch to Windows 11! I connected my phone via the cable and nothing happened--in the past a box popped up automatically. So after checking the connections I looked for information online, the tips they gave didn't work. (Every single time I look for information on how to do something on the computer or phone online, they say something like "click the X button". Well, there never IS an X button!)
Anyway, I finally kept looking around and around and found the phone listed on a photo page and was able to download the photo. Then I had to finish the Quaker form and when I was done they said they would send me a coupon. I hope all the contaminated boxes are off the shelf when I go to use the coupon! On recalls they usually lists specific dates--this time they said a date "or earlier". Of course mine was earlier, apparently they have no idea when the contamination possibility started.
Now I'm exhausted, like every time I can't figure a tech thing out. And this should have been such a simple one.
I have to go check my porch again.

I just went down to check my porch again and my package was there, luckily it was in a plastic bag and not a padded envelope or it would have been soaked through.
I spent the prior hour and a half recreating my shopping friends purchases that I made for her in the last year that she has to reimburse me for. I had printed out invoices for a lot of them and mailed them to her but they got lost when the things were moved from the apartment she had to give up. So I have the entire year's invoices printed out and I'll ask her how many she wants to reimburse for at a time and will only send those invoices so they don't get lost again. I don't think I realized how much they added up to until I see them all at once!
Now it's almost time to get ready for bed.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Worked in shifts in the pantry closet. We don't keep food in there, just many random things likes thermos, light bulbs, paper plates, napkins, plastic ware, cookie cutters, random small things like a hand blender, small chopper, food storage containers.
Pulled so much out, wiped shelves, moved things around
I had three plastic baskets that fit perfectly on one shelf, one holds the paper plates and bowls, one holds the bagged up plastic ware and one holds the napkins. It looks great but I lost some storage space. I could pack more in when I just had things stacked and lined up But I didn't let it stop me and I kept moving forward
I washed the food storage containers. Well some of them. I am doing a sink full at a time. I can shut the door to the pantry. I can find things.
I still have to work on the floor in front of the cupboards.
I scrubbed the shower while I was taking a shower. Multi tasking
It was a lovely day today. DH and I went out to eat. He found a gift card so we used it. It covered half of our meal. We then went and had our picture taken with Santa. They turned out cute and we will give one to each of the kids in their stockings.
Earlier in the day we went to Walmart. I needed to get plates and napkins for a party. And I just now remembered I had some I was saving for a work party. I will go look for them then return what I bought at Walmart. Anyway, I was going a little overboard as usual and DH reminded me that I need to start reining that in if I am going to retire. So I immediately put it all back, then did a headcount of staff and only bought the minimum. I really need to rethink my way of thinking. But it is a win if I can return what I bought and use what I have.
Ok. A load of laundry and something else. Maybe deal with another pile in my new age cave!

Happy Sunday! Yesterday was a bust in terms of being productive, but not in terms of having fun!
After I got home from visiting my sister, I did do some puttering and pick up put away. Then I took puppy for a nice walk. After that I got ready to go to a Christmas concert which was a present for me from another sister. It’s a concert that I have gone to with DD every year since she was nine; it’s an absolutely beautiful concert with our symphony orchestra, and it’s very focused on Christmas with Carols and classics and just beautiful and joyous. , I wasn’t going to go this year but my sister bought me tickets as a gift so we went to that and it was really fun and beautiful and meaningful
So far today I have not done much -fed the animal kingdom. I am struggling a bit with sadness about my family. I am trying to put it aside. I’m trying to live in the moment. I was just out watching puppy leap happily around the backyard and thinking, relish this moment of watching this beautiful dog so happy! Just snuggled with boy cat and girl cat is sleeping somewhere.
I was going to do church at 1 church online but I think I’ll go in person to another church.
I did not do my Christmas cards I must do them must must must!
I just put a meal in the crockpot for my dinner today and probably for several days
I have a Christmas concert to go to today. My relative is performing in it.
I really need to focus on the good today. Enjoy this gift of a day and try to put aside the hurt feelings I have, but they’re an actual physical pain… I know once I get distracted with busyness it will help. I hope you all have a good and productive Sunday.

Good morning TML, ohblondie and bree!
I've been puttering around doing a few things but also watching Christmas movies. This is the last weekend of brand new movies on Hallmark, although they will continue Christmas movies through the end of the year. I already talked to my decluttering client, and the dog wanted to go out an hour ago. Now it's time to feed her again.
Bree, I hope you can enjoy the good parts of Christmas and not let your relatives ruin it for you.

Hi Everyone ! bree, your girlcat types better than my 2 boycats do. Mine have not have lessons; maybe your girlcat has. Yesterday I had Diane over, we had lunch, and she brought down the tree, the ornament box, and some bins. The tree is up. And I had brought down some things earlier and set them around. These were mostly lovely needlepoint things that my DD1 had made years ago. She did such lovely work. Always a twinge of sadness when I see them, but also a feeling of happiness that she made them and gave them to me. I had to leave at 2:20 so we only had a bit less than 2 hours. I had to finish dressing quickly; I had showered and donned underpinnings earlier, so took off my brunch coat and pulled on my slacks and sweater and shoes FAST and I was ready in time. We drove about 2 hours, and went to the smorgasbord, although I just ordered off the regular menu as I wasn't hungry after eating with Diane. Then, after a 2 hour unexpected wait, we got into the decorated stadium and saw many many many Christmas lights. It was after 10:00 when I finally got home and I was tired, but it was a lot of fun. This morning, after Mass, I took out the trash and took the recycling to the curb. Have barely done anything else as I am so tired. I will do the cat pans shortly and do a bit of PUPA, but won't do much else. Maybe a phone call. Wishing everyone a good week and contentment and productivity. catcats
