Hello. It is March now !!! I think I will repack neatly all the Christmas tree decorations in the attic. And do some cleanup in the backyard, getting leaves out of cellarway and elsewhere and weeding. I will carry forward getting pans out of oven so I can bake without doing that every time. Looking into the possibility of getting a professional grooming of Mocha is something I will try. I will pare down saved papers in the filing cabinet. I will straighten up the DR desk drawers. They just need a quick tidy. catcats

Hello catcats!
I have my list of goals all written, I'm sticking with lucky 13!
I'm continuing on with getting to baseline every day, working on the book box, filing, book data entry, old paper, and the never-ending password project. Also my houseplants, but with a goal of 4 this month instead of 8. I would also like to make that crockpot dish one of these days.
New goals are: purging all the old food in the pantry and basement--I've worked on that sporadically but I still saved too many things, thinking I'll eat them eventually. I have to stop kidding myself and do a clean sweep of things I don't want, and forget about the fact that it's wasting money to throw things away. It's not any more wasteful to throw them away now than it will be to throw them away in a year, which is what will happen if I continue to keep these things--and I could use the shelf space for other things.
Basement organizing again--I've put more things down there, including dog supplies, and I need to neaten it up again.
Cleaning the BR closet--this won't take too long, it's just gotten messy.
Changing my will. I have already contacted the attorney, but I have to make decisions about the changes. I won't necessarily finish this in March, not that it's complicated, it just takes me a long time to do things like this. But I would at least like to decide on the changes by the end of the month.
And the big one--starting seedlings under the grow lights! At the beginning of the month there is only one plant to start, salvia, which takes a long time to grow big enough to put outside. But in the middle of the month there are many more.
So:
1-Get back to baseline every day 2-Keep working on the second book box
3-Ruthlessly purge old food
4-File everything in my "to file" basket 5-Clean bedroom closet
6-Basement - 30 minutes
7-Book data entry - 60 minutes
8-Old paper - 60 minutes
9-Password project - 60 minutes 10-Plant goal (total of 4 plants) 11-Plant seeds!
12-Decide on changes to revise will
13-Make a crockpot dish
I may find that the seeds take all my time and I can't do much else, but at least at the beginning of the month I will do my best.

Third month of the year already!! And here we go........ March is prep for April and finish February. My spare room is so close that I can almost taste it . Yesterday, I sorted through 5 smallish bins and boxes and absorbed most of it in other places. Also have another 1/2 box gathered for donation. The only items that ended up back in a small bin were C and D batteries. I have high hopes to mark the spare room and the office FINISHED by Monday morning except for the stuff that still needs to leave the house. Yesterday I had someone come and take out 3 nesting tables, 1 sofa table, 1 roll away banker chair, 1 standing mirror (HUGE), 1 computer desk, 1 annoying metal magazine stand, and 2 shelving units that hold fabric bins along with the bins. Freed up so much space! We are traveling for half of April and having A LOT of overnight high maintenance guests during the final week of April so March is preparing for company. March goals: 1) Finish office and spare room. 2) Finish our bedroom with all the things that need to be hung and put back from the kitten proofing. Fingers crossed it will survive. 3) Hang a lot of pictures, etc. 4) Do a dish shift now that I have a buffet cabinet. This will impact four different areas. 5) A minor clean-up of kitchen cabinets - people that are coming are real foodies and have little sense of boundaries. 6) Organize people we want to see and things we want to do back at parents' old house. With items 3, 4, 5 - hoping that I can donate 20% and in the case of dishes put aside 5-10% for mosaic project. Taxes will be in the mail to the accountant on Monday. Hoping to spend March at the office spring cleaning. I moved one huge responsibility to attorneys and with the taxes out - a 2nd major time consuming item is done for the year. Now I want to be ruthless on paper and electronics for the next 2-3 months. PC

Goals for March:
Daily: Hang up coat every time I come in. Do dishes, tidy up kitchen daily Sort mail daily
Weekly: Continue to clear out at least 2 large bags of clutter each week. (I did this throughout February, and have enough stuff in this house that I can continue to do it for months.) Continue working on decluttering 1st floor, livingroom, dining room, laundry, etc.
Continue to work on craft projects, knitting, quilting, etc. I have several UFOs or WIPs (Unfinished Objects or Works in Progress).
Self care: Brush and floss before bedtime at least 5 times each week. Ideally I'd like to do it every night, but Start walking/plogging again at least 3 days per week. (Plogging is a Swedish term for picking up trash while jogging) Prepare/eat healthy, mostly plant-based meals.
In January/February I redid our kitchen floor (ceramic tile and grout) the kickplate/baseboard needs new covers which have been ordered. There are a bunch of tricky bends and turns. I hope to do this within the next week or two.

This morning I did the dailies, started a laundry load, and spent MUCH time, an hour or more, going through files in the bedroom filing cabinet. I recycled some papers after tearing off identifying things, trashed a lot after tearing papers up, and shredded many papers that I have kept way too long and are no longer relevant. Wills of people long dead, EOBs from Medicare and private insurance, and other miscellaneous items. I had done this filing cabinet one or two years ago, but now I felt ready enough to pare down a lot more. I may do more yet, another day.

I just spent another hour or so on the filing cabinet, shredding very old tax returns and some more old medical files. Rearranged others and recycled quite a bit as well. The drawer in the filing cabinet is looking much less crowded now. YAY !!!
I may, here and there, declutter a few more things, but I don't have to do that. I consider this challenge done, because there could not be much more left.

hi everypony! I am figuring out my list as I go along.
FINANCIAL GOALS: update all of my automatic bill pay with new account info. This is complicated by the new reality that one's account numbers are hidden! I presume I will find them. I need one immediately so that I can get an annual fee paid via points.
consolidate my info into one spreadsheet. I have started this, but need to enter more data.
turn in a form to the IRS to show I don't need to turn in another form.
reduce spending/expenses by 10%. I need to sort out fixed vs discretionary expenses.
determine how much it would cost to buy a car vs. other options (renting, share, taxi) and decide what to do
BUCKET LIST: decide whether to go see the eclipse and how to manage that
decide when to drive to GA and start planning
call friends I might be able to visit on the way
IMPORTANT/URGENT prep for ENT appt
- put flea med on cat & note date
- deposit check
- ask acct #

- call to get new form
- mail to IRS
- apply to clean cars for all

Yay, I'm so glad so many of you are here! How did the first week of the month go?
I did okay--as suspected, the most time was spent on seedlings even though it's early in the planting season.
I did an hour and 10 minutes on seedlings, 30 minutes on my BR closet but didn't quite finish yet, 30 minutes on old paper and 20 minutes on the basement. I took a step towards thinking about my will, I talked to a friend who is being taken out of the will due to her financial circumstances, I wanted to make sure she agreed with my reasoning and understood, she did, so that's a relief. I was at baseline except for yesterday, because my microwave malfunctioned and I had to deal with that and made a mess moving it. Hopefully I will be back there today. 1-Get back to baseline every day -- I think all days but one this week
2-Keep working on the second book box -- still plugging away at the current book
3-Ruthlessly purge old food
4-File everything in my "to file" basket 5-Clean bedroom closet -- 30 minutes done
6-Basement - 30 minutes -- 20 minutes done
7-Book data entry - 60 minutes
8-Old paper - 60 minutes -- 30 minutes done
9-Password project - 60 minutes 10-Plant goal (total of 4 plants) 11-Plant seeds! -- 1 hour and 10 minutes done--planted small 4 trays of seeds this week
12-Decide on changes to revise will
13-Make a crockpot dish
