Finally checking in. We lost internet over the weekend - but were able to resolve the issue late last night. This was a good thing as I needed it in place to be able to work from home this week. While crawling around behind towers of boxes, I was able to identify things that needed to be tossed. And some mouse traps need to be set.
I had a busy weekend. I only took my mom to visit my dad on Saturday - sunday she wasnt feeling well. I did my dad's laundry - I will drop it off today Went to a friends house for dinner saturday and had a nice evening Helped my mom make a craft at the ALF (Before she went to visit my dad) We made an easter themed door hanging, she made one for herself and I made one for my dad I did some major cleaning in the kitchen - I cleared off a portion of the counter to the left of the stove. I wiped it down and put a mouse trap behind the toaster oven (The toaster oven is in the corner at an angle so plenty of room). I washed everything that was on the counter for decoration. We have gotten rid of of our keurig so I took the big jar that held our pods and washed that out and put the coffee grounds in there. This got the big blue plastic cannister of coffee off the stove top (good thing because it inadvertently got the side melted when I was cooking something in the oven) While clearing off the counter I discovered baking dishes and pans that had taken up residence on the counter. I got all of those put in their proper home as well as the new 9x13 pan with plastic lid put away. I had this random small book case in the kitchen that I thought my DS wanted. He changed his mind so I moved some pieces of trim that DH had taken down from the doorway and never put back up. I moved those to the basement (I was tired of getting caught on the nails) I put the shelf where the trim was and I put all of DH's bottles of powerade on the shelf. This got them out of the bag that he insists on placing in front of the stove/cabinets. There was a bag of his beer/liquor that was also in residence next to the powerade. that got put on the bottom shelf. He got these when he retired and he will never drink them. For now they are out of the way.
So you can finally access the area in front of the stove and the cabinets. I mopped that area of the floor and with the shiny counters it looked great.
I then attacked the pantry. I gave it a quick reorganization - put all the soup in a row, vegetables and fruits in a row, spaghetti sauce and tomato products in a row.....you get the idea. it did not get a deep clean but like is with like and things wont get lost. I will check dates and do a better arrangement perhaps over the weekend. I only got two shelves done and I need to wipe down the bottom two shelves and put my mixing bowls away. Food items we will not eat are now temporarily on the counter to be donated - once I check expiration dates.
I washed a few of my mom's clothing items - she wanted them back with a "light starch". Oh my, I had nothing to say to that. So I purchased a can of spray starch and washed and ironed them using the starch. I brought them ack to her last night and will finish the other items hopefully this week. I have to pre-treat several items so that is what is holding me up.
tonight I will have a board meeting that has the potential to go late. But I work from home tomorrow so there will be no scrambling to get out of bed, dressed then drive like a mad woman to get to work on time. I can gently ease into the day.
OK - back to work

Hi ohblondie and dusty!
Ohblondie, that's a lot of progress in the kitchen! As for the "light starch"...let's just say you are very patient!

I worked in the yard for half an hour, I cut down some plants, pulled some dead vines off a fence and also cleaned up a tiny patch of planting area--maybe 2x2 feet. Ugh, baby steps, I guess.
One more list before lunch.

Trying to finish up a help manual. It is requiring extensive design skills that I do not possess. We used to have support staff that could help and an office that just did layouts and design work. I am getting so frustrated. I closed it up and walked away to give my eyes a chance to uncross themselves.
Hopefully my meeting wont go too long tonight. It has the potential to go very long though. I am already tired!!
I managed to bring my breakfast (oatmeal) lunch (salad) and snack (small serving of cottage cheese) to work with me today. I am so full - that is contributing to my sleepiness!
Time to wrap up.....

I hope your meeting is short and sweet, ohblondie!
So, after my last list, I decided to go back outside for a little bit. My neighbor was home, and he was actually mowing his back lawn...ugh, it's too early for that! But we talked for a while, and his wonderful dog was out, so I got to pet the dog. I did more prep of the plot nearest the porch, that's what I want to be ready first because I want to make sure I plant lots of dill there this year. Last year's plants didn't do well so I didn't have the wonderful smell from it that I did the first year I planted it. I'm still not done though--the plot is about 6 feet long by 2.5 feet, and I still have a 1 foot strip at one end to do.
As soon as I came inside my shopping friend called, this time we only talked for an hour, but when we hung up I had to make a call to my decluttering client, I said I would check in with her this afternoon.
So now I feel like the day is over, although it's just 4:20. It's 72 degrees outside and sunny, and that's warm enough to make me tired.

I rested for a while after my last post but kept thinking about the one foot strip of dirt that I wasn't able to finish, so I went back outside and finished it. I also trimmed a few more plants while I was out.
Now I'm going to eat dinner and then it'll almost be bedtime.
See you all tomorrow!

I didn't post yesterday. I discovered in the evening that my Dr.'s appt. for lab work was for today, not Wednesday. I had ordered a big Walmart order which came in the early evening so I put most of that away. So this morning after I showered and washed my hair, I kept the appt. , just for a blood draw by the nurse. Then I came home, put up a load from the dryer and then did a fair amount of laundry during the day. Talked with my BFF in CT and processed the mail. Have done the Lenten reading, but not any extra. My joints are not good at all today.
My best to all for a good tomorrow. It was almost 70 degrees here today.

ohblondie you win the prize for being amazing today! catcats hope your joints feel better tomorrow I woke up today and it was late and I felt lousy so I worked from home a bit though I debated calling in sick. slowly felt better I think I am still wiped out from the busyness of it all (as in life). work was ok, I accomplished one tedious but very important task, and moved projects along. pretty productive. came home ready to crash and so of course I played fetch with puppy! I then took her for a walk in the sunlight!! there were quite a few other dog walkers out. Puppy is showing some glimmers of maturity! She saw a squirrel and carefully watched it but did not do a dramatic lunge! She saw another dog nearby and did not go crazy jumping and barking... after the walk, I ate dinner and then started on more paperwork purging. It is kind of like the deck chairs on the titantic maybe? There is so much to do here but the paper is such a mess. years of over filing has added up. but there are other more pressing matters BUT I had created a big mess on my dining room table in working on paper, so I cleaned most of it up, still needs some TLC. I am getting better - actually recycled a certificate from a dance camp when DD was little. also some of her school work! I also cleaned the litter and took a bunch of recycling out. did the dishes. snuggled quite a bit with sweet girlcat.

Good morning womble!
I got about 4 hours of sleep last night, and it was my own fault--I fell asleep around 10 or 10:30, woke up a couple of times but fell right back, but then I woke up at 2:30, turned over to go back to sleep, and while turning over looked out into the living room at a framed picture on the wall. I realized--wait, that picture looks much too clear. I had forgotten to take my contact lens out before going to bed! So I had to get up, put drops in my eyes to moisten the lens because when you fall asleep with them in they dry out and stick to your eyeball...wait a little while and then take the lens out and clean it and put away. By this time I was wide awake and couldn't fall back no matter what, so I gave up and got out of bed at around five.
Ever since I've worn contact lenses I've had animals and the night time ritual is taking care of the animals and then taking my lens out right before I get into bed, it's been a long time since I fell asleep with lenses in. Especially the last months when I had a strict ritual to follow at night so the dog wouldn't get anxious, I did things exactly the same way each night. Now there's no ritual to follow, so last night I just forgot.
Of course, NOW I feel sleepy and could probably fall asleep if I tried.
