This is a great idea Meme! I had to eliminate this in my life--was the single biggest thing getting in the way of me de-squaloring. The more I played, the more I wanted to play, the more I played and so it went. House cleaning became a "distraction". Not anymore. Leveling in real life!

Well, I like the idea in theory, but... What to do if these moments are nonexistent or already occupied? When I wait for the micro I'm either clearing the table in prep for serving a meal or I'm prepping or cooking another part of the meal. I don't drink tea or coffee. My laundry is a shared facility so DH does it at night to save me from hauling the kids over there. I usually only watch TV at night to unwind before going to bed and I always fast forward through the commercials because watching them would keep me up past my bedtime. I check my email, message boards, & blogs during mealtimes. I honestly can't think of any other "idle" times that I could fill. :/

Besides the ubiquitous clutter monster, I also have to fight my weight. I saw one Dr. Oz show where he recommended doing squats every time a commercial comes on.

I sometimes use idle online games, where you only have to level up here and there and the rest of the game is automatic. After leveling up, I do some chores, then come back and level up again.

(I hope it's okay to up this thread. If not, please let me know and I'll delete the post.) Old thread, the original poster Meme (papaswife) has passed away ... but her wisdom is timeless. I think it *honors* her to bump this thread forward, so thank you for doing it!
