Keep up the good work!
When I was about your age, I lived in a place that had roaches so bad that they lived in the stove. After I lit the oven, they'd crawl out from under the burners, and I'd hit them with a hammer.
I then moved to an apartment that had roaches for a few months, until I got them under control. I'd remove my eyeglasses before I entered the kitchen, so I couldn't see them. I could still hear them, though.

I'm getting chills just thinking about it. You are one brave lady!

Thanks again everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that things are well, and we still haven't had any more "little friends" come to visit. Hope everyone else is doing great too!

Thanks for your honest and touching post.
You sound like you're on the way to success...
As for shower curtains... every other month or so, I soak the bottom half of the curtains (I have two, fabric and an inner plastic one), in a pail that is half full of bleach and water. I don't even have to remove them from their hooks or the pole. I find that most of the yucky stuff accumulates on the bottom of the curtain. In fact, I did this today, and they are good as new. (Make sure you test to see that the curtain is colour-fast before you use bleach.)
And the sofa.... My ex bf used to fall asleep on my sofa every single evening. It drove me mad because he would work all day, be super sweaty, and then sweat some more on the sofa. I tried everything to remove the sweaty smell. Even shaving cream foam. Eventually though, when he moved out, the smell slowly disappeared. I guess the key is making sure the the cause of your problem stops contributing to the problem. And then if the sofa is still gross, maybe it is time to give it away. But seriously, I never thought my sofa would be good again, and it really IS.

Hello all.. I'm at a bit of a low point right now. I started to post about it here, but thought better of it and posted in by-ways, because I don't want it to be visible to the public. Please take a look if you're at all interested.
As far as public news, I still find dead insects where we sprayed Demon WP, and I have not seen a live roach in the house since that day! I have seen one house centipede though.. yuck! I hate those things!
Cleanliness of the home is also no problem at all. I have been keeping things very very clean. I do have one small end table where I tend to put papers and my makeup that isn't the neatest, but overall, I consider that teeny bit of clutter a victory! Hope everything's going well for you all.
