I am a lifelong southerner, so grew up with heat and humidity. That said, I find I slow down with projects over summer, as I am very hot natured and find it miserable to work in the heat. Not an excuse, just an observation!

It is intersting to me that I know of areas where the people are predominantly dutch. I know some of these people rather well. They are for the most part spotless housekeepers. Even their garages are super clean with painted walls and floors!! Crisp white fences, nice landscaping. I try not to be too intimidated! Could be more of a nationality thing? babiesgrannie

While I was in Holland, I noticed that most of the windows were bare, without curtains. It is to let as much light in as possible. Which enables passersby to glimpse a bit of everyday life on ground floors. Maybe that's why they tend to keep it tidy?

This house did not fit that stereotype - it could have used work.
