Close your eyes and just start baggin! I had to do a truly ghastly paper sort once (family business snafu terrible headache). I TOOK OFF MY GLASSES so I couldn't read the papers. My job was to restore order only. I could see enough to toss duplicates (recycling); put bank statements in one folder; tidy stuff enough to fit in one box. I recommend ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that will faciliate major tossing. amen sisters and brothers

I can work faster when I wear my gardening gloves, for 2 reasons: I don't worry about injuring my hands, and I don't get so sentimental, either.

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas and encouragement! Large load went out to the trach this morning..3 bags and 5 file boxes waiting for donation pick...
Thank goodness we live near the Public Works with the larger bins! Still loads to go..(loading up on coffee to get back to work!).

Hi! my dau would go to camp for a few weeks every summer and while she was gone, I would go thru her room and throw out so much stuff that she came home to a simple, clean and organized room. I would ask her before she left to please sort, but she was overwhelmed and just couldn't I think. One year I just rolled up the rug with all the crap on it and threw it out! VERY freeing! She lived with just the basics at camp and really appreciated coming home to a clean room and a fresh start.
I think it is perfectly fine to clean up your children's rooms. Actually I think it is a LOVING GIFT to them....
you are doing great with all that you have gotten out already. Sending good tossing vibes your way!!

Wow, I am impressed at all the big cleanups! My idea of amnesty has been to not try to sell the things and give them away, or toss them.
I was so proud of myself for giving away a set of dinnerware today for a charity pick-up. I am a rank novice.
