The bane of my existence? Receipts. I somehow manage to have tons of them in my purse. I try to empty them out regularly but they multiply like rabbits. I could only wish that my money could multiply like that! I do carry a small purse so that helps, but I still seem to always have a ton of receipts in there. <Sigh!>

I finally quit carrying a purse when I worked in a secure facility, where an officer had to inspect my purse every day. I grew tired of saying, "Gaze into the PURSE OF DOOM!"
My late Grandma was a hoarder of potentially useful items. I remember my late brother emerging from her room, saying "Grandma sent me to get her purse, but there are so many decoys!"
Brings a smile to my face every time.

Theroyaldump - I am a fan of organizer purses too. Mine is very small (not much bigger than a wallet on straps) with a little compartment for cell phone, and a small zipper section just big enough for keys, comb, and lip gloss. When I need to replace it I will look for something very similar ... it is a great solution to purse clutter.

My purse is never ever ever ever beyond Level 0 (if I even carry it). I think everyone has one or two things that they're fanatical about, even when everything else is squalorous. For me, it's my purse, and my refrigerator.

I have a backpack, but I only use the little side pockets as purse storage, the main bit is for carrying groceries or whatever I'm going out to do that needs stuff and my other purses are small and only take what fits in the side pocket of the backpack. I hate toting what feels like assorted rubble with me.
In my purse I have keys, change purse, asthma inhaler, lipsalve, paper tissues, cellphone. That's the bare essentials, depending on the season or time of month there will be one sanitary pad, a small tube of sunscreen and an umbrella. In the main part of the rucksack the only clutter allowed is a selection of reusable shopping bags.
