This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM !

I didn't get up when I wanted to this morning... guess 3 hours sleep in catching up with me... never mind. It's 2 minutes before 7am, so that's earl enough. This is dd's first day at camp, so the morning will be hectic. I'm going to wake her after I've had my tea! I need the quiet time first, though since she's turned 9, she's not as noisy in the mornings! Guess she's getting old! . Tadas: Recycled laundry. Made tea / coffee. Made bed. Todos: Check time that dd has to be at camp. Pack her bag, (I didn't do it last night ) Call Realtor about sale of house. Take dd to camp.

I just got back from taking dd to camp. It's so tempting to go back to bed! But I will resist! I have work to do! Maybe I'll have a nap this afternoon. Tadas: Check time that dd has to be at camp. Pack her bag, (I didn't do it last night ) Call Realtor about sale of house. Well, he called us! Take dd to camp. Todo: Recycle laundry. Set timer and work for at least 15 minutes in bedroom, following the list I made earlier. Have breakfast.

Good Morning Syzygy! I'm having a hard time doing what I've set out to do, but never mind. Good luck on that phone call! Tadas: Recycle laundry. Have breakfast. Instead of working on the surfaces, I sorted the rest of the dirty clothes. I think I have about 4 or 5 more loads to go! I also bagged up some old clothes to take to the charity shop. The rest of my time was spent on the phone, speaking wit the realtor. Selling a house is hard work!! Todos: Clear off the surfaces in the bedroom. Recycle laundry. Unload and reload dishwasher. Call or e-mail realtor as needed.

Good Morning Hypatia Guess it's afternoon here, but I'm still in a morning mindset. Tadas: Clear off the surfaces in the bedroom. I only got the top of my dresser done, but I did clear out the entire floor beside my bed! Will post a picture soon. Recycle laundry. Unload and reload dishwasher. Call or e-mail realtor as needed. Had to phone him, then email dh, then email realtor again! Todo: Vacuum living room, dining room, and hallway. Clear off dh's dresser and bookshelf. Break down old, plastic shelf to give away.

Hi Syzygy, Looks like you're doing good in your time zone Scooping would be something I would put off until the cat had an accident.... guess that's why our cats live in the great outdoors! I really like the checks, you can use them, too. If you look to the left of post box there is a box that says select smiley. Pull the list open and you will see a variety of smilies. I like this one. When you find one you like, just click on it and it will put it in your message. Hey Minibella Well done with all the stuff you've done so far, on top of getting up and going to work!! I work part time, one day a week, and I don't get much of anything done that day! Recycle the laundry, just means that I fold the dry stuff, put it away, put the wet stuff in the dryer and put more clothes in the washer. I'm funny, I wash everything on small load and only put 10 things at a time in. Otherwise, it sits in the dryer and doesn't get folded or it gets dumped somewhere and has to be washed again. I figure this saves water in the long run! (Just found this one! ) Vacuum living room, dining room, and hallway. Clear off dh's dresser and bookshelf. Break down old, plastic shelf to give away. I decided to keep it for the time being, but I did move it into our bedroom. It's sitting under the window, by dh's side of the bed. I put two boxes of electrical stuff for dh to sort out on it!! I might move that stuff upstairs to dh's office later though... we'll see.Todo: Clear off mantle. Recyce laundry. Tidy dd's room (I know this doesn't have anything to do with my bedroom, but it's so messy up there, that I want to at least move things about!! .) I have to go out to run an errand, but will be back to work on this more around 5pm. Y'all have fun while I'm gone!!

Scooping would be something I would put off until the cat had an accident.... guess that's why our cats live in the great outdoors! I have been inspired to scoop more often because one or both cats is/are producing incredibly smelly and loose stools. Cleaning up one provided strong reinforcement to scoop as much as possible. I wasn't the linen person- although I'd take credit if it meant my linens would magically be done. Ta dah * Made important phone call about something that's been hanging over my head. Got a positive result and should be able to solve that problem by the end of the week. * Post office * Buy cat food Next....?

^ A motivator I am happening to deal with as well. That and the cat is just so picky about her box even when that's not an issue.
Syzygy - that's awesome you did that. I personally put off things I stress about (which leads to more stress), so i think that's a great accomplishment.
Congrats to all, and nice icon finding merrymaid.
TaDas! 1. Got up before 7 30 am, was online for work at 8. 2. Went to my Dr appt. 3. OFFICIALLY HAVE LOST 20 POUNDS SINCE LAST YEAR when I started seeing her. This may not sound like a lot to some, but I deal with PCOS and it went undiagnosed and untreated for years meaning I gained a lot of weight not knowing why! This also means that I only have to see them once per year instead of twice because I have continously made progress all year (on this and other issues). 4. Purchased more litter. 5. Emptied the cat's box entirely and put new litter in. I've started using liners that makes this easier and cleaner. 6. Threw the bathroom rugs in the wash. See #5 and #4 as to why they were dirty. 7. FINISHED THE FIRST PART OF PROJECT M! The next part can just wait till I feel like making it as the first part can be used alone. For the curious since I'm done, I will share. M = Meditation Pillow Set. I made the square one, just need to make the round one. 8. Cleaned off 2/3 of the sewing table as a result. All of it is in my closet which...is a wreck still but that is the room it belongs in. 9. Made lunch at home instead of eating out with some of the groceries I bought yesterday.
And of course, well, work. A little on the shy side today for hours but, I knew that would be happening.
Still To Do (well there's tons but the first three) 1. Wash, let dry and freeze the blueberries so I have them for all winter. Refridge what I will eat in the next couple days. 2. Drink a full glass of water and take my vitamins. 3. Go to the pharmacy, fill all my prescriptions.

Wow, Stressedbythemess, I am blow away with all you've accomplished today. Merrymaid, syzygy, and hypatia, you've all done so much!!! Yeah!!!
Having trouble logging on -- my computer is not happy with me.
TADAs: 1. Picked up project and something from Freecycle 2. Quick stop grocery shopping 3. Went to lady-who-broke-her-ankle's home and made lunch, cleaned out cat box, did a little this and that.
TODOs: 1. A little bit more on ongoing art project 2. Move some plants in containers *bonus* swim 3. Two timed 20 minute segments in study looking at paperwork I'd rather not deal with.
Hope you all have good afternoons/evenings!
