been online for like 6 hours and watching tv and done nothing today but create dirty dishes. why do I have so much ***? I say I am going to do stuff and I do nothing. still haven't gone to the post office or run my errands. getting fat from lack of exercise. need to do job applications but feel like whats the use.Learned helplessness again. total inertia. negative self talk.

You managed to write a note to the board - that's a success.

I totally get that. The computer is a black hole, and it's easy to lose HOURS there and not know what you did - especially when everything else you have to do sucks. Wish I had some helpful advice!

- The words L-A-Z-Y and Layzeeness are censored here... You are allowed to use them if you spell them ... as L-A-Z-Y or laz-i-ness or l@ziness or Lay-zee or Lay-zee-ness or other similar variations. But you have to go through the effort of doing so, and ask yourself if you really want to use such a label. Welcome to the land of POSITIVE self-talk. -

- Sometimes, we experience "inertia". Inertia isn't always "laz-i-ness". Sometimes inertia is a habit ... caused by fear, depression, or feelings of overwhelmedness. Sometimes inertia is caused by "Demand Resistance", which is explained here: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/16221/demand-resistanceSometimes inertia is caused by exhaustion. Due to emotional turmoil, hard work, or physical ailments. Sometimes inertia is caused by a lack of confidence that we have the skills to do the job. There are many reasons why we stare at the mess, yet don't act. Usually, the reason isn't "lay-zee-ness". -

otay so lay-see- ness is a bad word here - even if we use it toward ourselves. Interesting very interesting. how did that one get chosen I wonder? I mean there are lots of bad words. and I did just just that one - so i thought um what was going on. yeah I am am Lay = zee - didnt used to be. but 50 plus years of trying haven't paid off - so I figure why bother anymore.

Hi success, I did exactly the same as you today, almost nothing... I know the feeling. If you are still here Go to the top right hand side of the page. Click on CHAT People are usually there . I go most evenings for a while..... Sometimes I go and sit on my Lay-zee behind while everyone else leaves for a quick bit of work. I am still in the demand resist mode.
I hear dial up works fine there. Test it out......
