This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. [/color] Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you. Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM![/b]

So far I've: Made coffee / tea Loaded the dishwasher. Before we go out, I need to: Get dressed and make bed. Recycle laundry. Make sure dd gets dressed and makes her bed. I'm also going to work on a new list of things to do.

Good Morning WantinMore and DragonChilde, Your husband is admirable to work all those hours, Wantinmore. I hope he's able to rest when he comes home. Good going for making a start on the house before it gets out of control. It's great that you see it and can do something about it. DragonChilde, Way to go for being proactive about that check. It has to be scary, but you're not waiting and doing all you can. I've been working outside for an hour and 20 minutes! We picked up trash, moved bricks, took tree branches and dead weeds to the side of the road,(the city will pick up garden waste if we put it by the road.) We have the van loaded with an old sandbox and bike that dd has ground out of, to take to the help center. And two bags of trash for the dump. Still more work to be done, but if we do an hour or so each week, by end of summer it will be done. Hopefully sooner, but at least by winter! . Tadas: Get dressed and make bed. Recycle laundry. Make sure dd gets dressed and makes her bed. Worked in the yard for an hour and 20 minutes. Made lunch and ate. Todos: Clean up lunch dishes. Take things to the dump and help center. Go to grocery store.

Way to go, Merrymaid! You're right, an hour or so a week will make a big difference over the course of the summer.
Ta Da: 1. Folded and put away even more laundry (good lord where does it all come from?) 2. Moved the towels into the dryer 3. Ran a couple of errands
To Do: 1. Fold and put away the towels 2. Start the dishwasher 3. Shop for a sewing pattern

Good Saturday morning (afternoon to some of you, I'm sure ) Rosebud, so nice to have your kitty and flowers to start the day. Thank you! Merrymaid, fantastic work on back yard. You and DH must have worked hard to achieve so much in little over an hour! Wantinmore, you're keeping ahead of Mount Washmore and looking out to squelch signs of squalor -- good for you! I sure hope your DH gets paid overtime or a very generous bonus for all that hard work! Dragonchilde, wishing you well with the bank and everything. TADAs: 1. Up/meds/breakfast 2. Made bed 3. Watered plants 1. Inspected art projects and did a few more minutes work on them 2. Took some random items on kitchen counter back where they belong 3. Put toaster away since it's not currently being used -- making more counter space -- YEAH! TODOs: 1. swim 2. go over to friend's who is still recovering from bad break of her ankle and help out a bit 3. Chiropractor appointment 4. Pick up elderly friend and take him to church fundraising dinner 5. Remember to bring those deserts I've been making -- they would be dangerous if left here! Wishing you all well -- WestsideStory

Hi Glowworm, Have fun picking out your pattern. WTG, getting your towels done. Good Morning Westside It's really afternoon here, but I just have a morning feel about me today. Well done getting your plants watered and things put away from the counter. Hope you have a good time swimming. It's actually cool here today (in the low 80's instead of mid 90's!) I'm thinking about going back outside and pulling some weeds. Maybe... Since my last post, I : Clean up lunch dishes. Take things to the dump and help center. DH did this for me!!! Made a banana pudding with meringue on top and clean up after myself. The pudding is cooling on a wire rack and the dishes are washing in the dishwasher. Todos: Still need to go to the grocery store. Make a plan of what areas I'm going to tackle this week. Put away some of the clean clothes in the laundry room.

Wow, good afternoon everyone! I see a LOT is already accomplished here!
Dragonchilde, kudos to you for getting right on that check issue. That's really good to get right on it!
And Merrymaid - consistent steps is the way to go, indeed! I've been trying to even do ONE small thing when I come home from work (and don't want to do anything at all) and its making a dent.
Wantinmore, nipping the spiral in the bud is certainly the way to go!
Well, my sleep scheule has been all out of whack, but I'm trying to get it back in shape.
Although its afternoon, it still feels like morning to me. I'll try to catch up.
Ta-Da's 1. Veritcal, and with Coffee - even getting out of bed is always a good thing for us depressive types. 2. Load of laundry moved from washer to dryer 3. Cleaned up a houseplant which, when it gets dried out and some stems die (as happened because of some recent neglect) it sheds little "needles" all over the place. MOST are now in the garbage, a few scattered around the kitchen.
To-Do's 1. Fold/Process dried laundry 2. Dishes to clear kitchen sink 3. 15 minutes of plant care
I hope everyone has a good and productive day! -Jane

My day started off in an out-of-town hotel. While it would be more interesting to read if I said I had "an adventure", the truth is that I got a flat in a town that shuts down at 5pm.
Ta dah * checked out of hotel * got a new tire, got it mounted and balanced * recycled old tire * got home * scoooped and scooped and cleaned up a miss * garbage out * cleaned out trip trash from car and purse * aired out stinky kitchen (as a result of the above mess)

Didn't get my morning To Dos done, but I have been busy.

To dos:
1) Finish sorting clothes I pulled out 2) Put up the clothes I've decided to keep in the rotation 3) Hang up stuff in the closet that is on hangers on the bed

I hope everyone had a good day! I've been in a bad mood all day, so I could barely get anything done but I will post the few things I did manage to do just to convince myself today wasn't totally wasted; made hubby breakfast fed and watered the dog and bird got dressed made the bed went to the grocery store for a few forgotten items made lunch for me and hubby ((laid in bed and watched tv/dozed for a long stretch of time!!)) swept up some dog hair rolling around on the floor ordered dinner did dishes took out the trash fed the fish I can't do anymore today. I still ache from work, still exhausted from just about everything else. I've been having a private pity party too which is getting a bit old but the party just drags on and on. Hence the bad mood. I'm tired of it all but the guests just won't leave!! Normally I'm a pretty upbeat person but lately I've been feeling very put upon and exhausted physically. I'm going to the doctor monday afternoon so hopefully everything can be taken care of soon. I really am not dealing with all this very well.

Some days, its hard to do much more than make sure everyone gets to eat. You accomplished a lot considering your exhaustion.
It sounds like you need to give yourself permission to rest- and if you won't, I will! Tell yourself that you're going to spend the rest of the night relaxing- and then don't feel guilty about it.
Going to your doctor is a good idea, too.
So here are your Todos: * turn on the TV or get a video or a book- whatever relaxes you * lie down someplace comfortable * get a snack later * go to bed
