The Principle of Sowing & Reaping :
Sow a thought, and you reap an act; Sow an act, and you reap a habit; Sow a habit, and you reap a character; Sow a character, and you reap a destiny. --- Samuel Smiles
We first make our habits, then our habits make us. ---- unknown

Even Jesus had to leave Nazareth.
Don't be afraid to go out in the world to do what you must do. Staying where you are safe and comfortable is nice, but you'll never find your true glory until you venture into the unknown and really test your mettle. Besides, those who know you may be unable to see what a blessing you are until they hear it from others first. Good advice for yourself and also for others to make sure we aren't so focused on our own perception of them that we fail to see who they truly are.
