"One of the nice things about being busy is it makes you focus on what's important to you and how you use your time." ~ Lorne Michaels
Dragon, i miss you. Also, i have no clue what focus you had in mind for next month. So, after tomorrow, i'll just do a few inspirational quotes of some kind until you are back, or i'll pick a theme if one strikes me that you are welcome to change.

"Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again." ~ James Cook
Yes, this one says paying attention instead of the word focus -- but it fits the title Dragon chose.

"There is no such thing as a sudden heart attack. It takes years of preparation."--UnknownIf you're preparing for one of these, you should stop right now. They are nothing like you see on TV or in the movies--it was such a disappointment. And dignity? You can just forget that, especially if you're wearing a skirt. (At least I had on clean underwear--my mother would be proud. )
Actually, I had a non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction, which may sound much more impressive than just an ordinary heart attack, but don't let the snotty name fool you. It's not nearly as serious as some of the other cards in the cardiac deck, and for that I am profoundly grateful. However, it still means you get stuck with the low-fat, low-sugar, low-sodium diet all cardiac patients on the floor are required to follow, which translates into three meals a day that feature gruel and green Jell-o.
Since I've missed most of the month of April, here's a heaping helping of my favorite quotes about staying focused. (Hopefully, it's not too many to "focus" on... )
"The reason why most people quit is because they focus on how far they've got to go and not how far they have come already."--Stephen Luke Fitness
"Life is like a camera. Just focus on what's important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, just take another shot."--Rakad Saleh
“If you really want to focus on something...the optimum amount of time to spend on it is ninety minutes. Then change tasks. And watch out for interruptions once you're really concentrating, because it will take you twenty minutes to recover.”--Winifred Gallagher, Rapt: Attention and the Focused Life
“Concentration is the secret of strength.”--Ralph Waldo Emerson
”You don’t get results by focusing on results. You get results by focusing on the actions that produce results.”--Mike Hawkins
"...The process of goal setting has helped me to focus not on what someone else thought I should do or be, but instead, on what I wanted to accomplish with my life."--Catherine Pulsifer
"An average person with average talents and ambition and average education, can outstrip the most brilliant genius in our society, if that person has clear, focused goals."--Mary Kay Ash
And one that has become a personal favorite in the past couple of weeks...
”It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”--Aristotle Onassis Mimi, a big "thank you" for you and everyone else that kept this thread going in my absence. Since I put together the topics and quotes a couple of months in advance, I do actually already have a topic for May, but I will need to rest a bit before I put it on the board later today. I get tired kind of easily now for some reason...

A couple of more, until our Dragoness recovers a bit.
"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
"Try to be like the turtle, at ease in your own shell." ~ Bill Copeland
"I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.' " ~ Muhammed Ali
