This one is more from the "explorers' perspective..but I love it. "Never mistake a clear view for a short distance"
I can clearly SEE all the mess and piles to clean up, to sort, to toss, donate, etc...but getting it DONE may take a few years. I remember standing on low stone walls on the Shenandoah trail looking over the stunning worn low mountains and green hills ..you can see forever..the same with peering into the Grand Canyon..wow what a view!!!! ..down, or across incredible vistas from the North or Soth rim....and only a patient donkey plodding for hours can take me in just one direction a few miles, if that. www.nps.gov/shen/index.htm The movie The Last of the Mohicans had such amazing visuals of this

Serendipity, and I LOVE your fractal pic..I went exploring that site, and will go back..there is an amazingly funny comparison work and prison... on one of the random connected pages. do you know the owner of the site?
When I see your gorgeous image I think of Fibonacci numbers and the pattern of Roman broccoli which is actually cauliflower, but green and stunningly pointed endlessly smaller points..I adore it to look at and eat. quote: "Many flowers offer a beautiful confirmation of the Fibonacci mystique. ... Sunflowers are the most spectacular example, typically having 55 spirals one way and 89 in the other; or, in the finest varieties, 89 and 144.
Pine cones are also constructed in a spiral fashion, small ones having commonly with 8 spirals one way and 13 the other. The most interesting is the pineapple - built from adjacent hexagons, three kinds of spirals appear in three dimensions. There are 8 to the right, 13 to the left, and 21 vertically - a Fibonacci triple.
Why should this be? Why has Mother Nature found an evolutionary advantage in arranging plant structures in spiral shapes exhibiting the Fibonacci sequence?" >>--https://math.temple.edu/~reich/Fib/fibo.html----

I thought of another completely UNFAMOUS quote similar to the one I just posted above. Don't Move your wood Twice! << advice from a handyman in 2000... meaning why just change up the location of stuff? I try very hard to GRIT my teeth, and just let stuff sit (especially in the car port and patio, which is covered at least) causing visual discordancy, and not waste my precious time to move it "just because" This accomplished nothing but a new pile, and losing stuff you at least KNEW where it was before! I HAVE moved my wood twice, even 3 times, and tiles too, and lived to regret it..now the 'getting rid of' is strong for me..and I avert my eyes to the mess I caused, and let it be until it departs for good. Slow progress..but at least some progress. Also, once an area is cleared (like my patio) I do use it as a "staging area" to sort and clear the next thing..eventually there will be a restful area to enjoy...before I croak, I hope. __________________________ PS Serendipity Anne Lamont who wrote "Bird by Bird"..a book on tackling writing is from Humboldt county where I live...and well respected. ( you have read her work I am guessing?) I am linking to many quotes about "GET STARTED" she has..also applies to hoarding and cleanup. Many wise words! www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/841198-bird-by-bird-some-instructions-on-writing-and-life

"Better a handful of dried dates and content with that than to own the Gate of Peacocks and be kicked in the eye by a broody camel."
"That the birds of worry are gonna fly over your head, this you can't change. But that they build nests in your hair, this you can duck."
"No one but the one carrying the load knows how much it weighs."
