I have too much clutter & resulting stress. I hope to give and get some decluttering & cleaning support here. I read quite a bit at the old SqS forum- many of you are familiar. Thanks to all you brave posters. You all really do help people feel less alone- and more aware of the wonderful possibilities. P.S.- I will be moving soon. Yikes.

Hi Zinnia! Nice to meet you. It sounds scary to move when there's so much to do, but how exciting to have a fresh start! Welcome

Hello, Zinnia, and welcome aboard. This is such a great opportunity for you to rid of things. If it doesn't pass the "is this worth moving?" test, toss it. And you get recycling amnesty until after you move!! If you have things to donate, fine. Schedule a pickup, and don't wait until it is all sorted. You are allowed more than one donation pickup, . It is scary to move, but great to start over. I'll be cheering for you!

Thanks for the welcome posts. You are both right- it is exciting AND scary, because I've yet to create *and maintain* a tidy home.

I'm sure that you can do it zinnia! When are you moving? I agree with pegasus, you get some leeway while you are moving in terms of feeling that you have to recycle things or donate things. If you're pressed for time, TOSS IT!!! You'll forget about it within 48 hours, I promise! Carrie

When are you moving? CarrieOne month- but I want to get it all done before then- not be sweating bullets and working all night the last night. I am fortunate not to have pet messes (which tend to be ongoing, right?) and no icky trash. But there is plenty of other stuff, so that from this point, it *appears* impossible. (I know- that's just an illusion. ) Thanks for the nice notes of welcome.

welcome zinnia; you can do it! A plan helps; stick to it and try to get lots done in the begininng; as much as you can. that way if you get tired out by the end, most of it will be done! Post about it here, use these boards to work your plan, and you will be amazed. a new start in a new dwelling can be so lovely!
