to clean? and declutter? I am very angry about an issue with my former employer (the one who laid me off) and I am tossing out stuff right and left. I think it is because I am angry and have lots of adreneline and no outlet - so I am using my physical anger on stuff.

I am sitting here tossing out more books - how could there be more? They represent the old me and the past - I want new - even though there are those trying to prevent me from getting the new.

Here is another question - how did these books get all nasty and smelly in rubbermaid containers in a closet that is heat controlled. Well I have had them for 30 to 40 years - so what did I expect? So if I keep 30 that is enough.

Yes, anger can be a motivator! Use it while it lasts!

Now if I can get the courage to throw out more of the breakables - no way I want to store this stuff!

If I act in anger and I often have in the past I tend to mess up and do damage. If I am angry and think, pray and then use the energy constructively I can and have accomplished a lot.

Anger is a huge motivator for me. Unfortunately (??), I'm of a calm disposition and don't get angry easily or very often. But, when I do, watch out!

yes.
kind of wish it didn't, but yes.
I think it's hidden in the piles -- buried, as it were. and when it comes out of hiding, the piles aren't necessary.

You bet anger motivates me!!! When I get knocked down so far that it seems like I'll never get back up again, the misery and disgust (and fear) and overall mental trip rolls up into a ball and out comes ANGER! It has not always translated into desqualoring (sometimes yes and I got a lot done) but it has gotten me up out of a sick bed of severe pain and muscle weakness, no heat, no water, no groceries and no help and allowed me to get things done until the next physical crash and burn. It works great to temporarily alleviate pain somewhat (as in a major distraction/adrenaline/beserker mode). However it is quite draining physically and mentally and people who encounter me in this state of mind often avoid me for a long, long time. Also it is really not good for the high blood pressure I have and I have to double up on meds for that day or so. It also does have a tendency to loosen my tongue considerably from behind my clenched teeth and a stream of very choice explenetives come rolling out at extreme volume. There is a "feel the burn" good feeling later on after I cool down so in all it works but I do not recommend anger except in short doses and serious situations. Disgust at one's personal squalor and situation usually is the trigger. An excellent question! Be Blessed!
