I hang my stuff up as soon as it comes out of the dryer, too. The only things that get put in drawers are underwear/socks and nightclothes (and those don't have to be neatly folded). This means 1) I never have piles of clean clothes that I'll "put away later" that only end up getting washed again because they've gotten slept on or knocked on the floor and 2) I never have to iron anything.
One cautionary note about laundry, though: Towels and underwear need to be washed separately from your clothes and they need to be washed in hot, or at least warm, water (I also add a touch of bleach). There is a germ issue with those items and you don't want to cross contaminate your stuff by throwing them in a cold water wash with regular clothes. On a less serious note, towels tend to leave fuzz on your clothes anyway.

I don't fold my 7 yr. olds daughter's clothes because it takes too much time. She does have a shorts/pants drawer, a shirt drawer, a socks & undies drawer, but everything just gets stuffed. I keep a large trash bin next to my bedroom closet, with white garbage bags labeled "donate". Any clothing, shoes, linens, etc. that I decide to get rid of, I just drop in that bin. When it's full I take it out to the car and put a new empty bag in the bin (and drive the full bag around in my car for months! ) I have a bin of clean dishtowels/rags under the sink - I don't fold or sort them. Same with washcloths in the bathroom. Whenever I need to buy a greeting card, I try to buy at least 2 or 3 others for potential upcoming events, and keep them in a safe place. There will be uses for girls' birthday cards, wedding cards, sympathy cards, etc. If they're cheap, I try to stock up. (And then forget where I put them!)

The thing that I did to help a ton was to start emptying the dishwasher as soon as it finishes. Now we have a rule that if you use the dish, when you finish with it, you have to be the one to rinse it off and stick it in the dishwasher. When it is full, whoever put the last dish in runs it. No more pile of dirty dishes in the sink!!!

kind of a shortcut~ When washing a gunky pot or pan or dish ~ like stew or so, under running hot water, I use a sheet of newspaper to wipe out the pot, before I use the sponge ~ it saves the sponge from being gunked-up, and you can just throw away the soggy, gunky piece of newspaper... I used to use a paper towel first, but thought that was a little wasteful, so I started using a (half) sheet of newspaper instead. I hate washing out gunky dish sponges. This is such a great tip! I can't tell you how many times I left a pot to sit for a while because I didn't want to waste a paper towel to wipe out all the gunk. I ended up doing it anyways. But, the thought of doing it, really put me off. I just wiped out a pot with newspaper right away.
