I am having difficulty everytime that red olympics ad comes up on the screen... I click on a forum like Listzilla or Byways and when that ad comes up, which is often, it takes forever for the threads to show up on my screen. This is the only time I've had this problem.
Anyone else having this happen cause it is very aggravating & time waster for me...
Hope that this problem will be addressed soon.
Thank you. CD

Cando, I can't get that ad to show up. Is there one thread where it tends to appear more often than others?
With Firefox, you can suppress images or use an adblocker add-on. It might be worth looking into that.
Or see what happens if you click on reload - it may reload again with a different ad.

it seems to be happening most in Byways & Listzilla. It is different than many of the other ads that I see. When you say reload, is that the same thing as refresh? I will just try that anyway. Thanks, AH

- I have an advertising blocker on my computer.
Sometimes i have it turned off, and that's when I see the ads.
i've noticed that most of the ads seem to be related to the thread topics being displayed.
There is currently a thread on Byways complaining about a place that sells prescription eyeglasses. I just went there, and turned off my ad blocker, reloaded, then got four banner ads for eyeglasses websites.
I just went to a thread about colonoscopies, and ... I kid you not ... there were banner ads for colonoscopies!
When viewing the "healthy choices" threads, I usually see "health" banner ads.
This current thread seems to be giving me banner ads for random "OCD" websites -- sites that don't appear to have anything to do with OCD at all.
When an ad is in "flash" or javascript, it takes longer to load, and tends to mess up the loading of the forum thread page.
I've also noticed that sometimes, when I have my ad-blocker on, and the ad has lots of graphics, it tries to load, but my blocker won't let it, and then the forum seems to short out and shut down my browser.
When that happens, I just re-open my browser, come back to SOS and go back to the thread I had been trying to read.
