When I click the colors and choose one, all it does is print on my message box "Color/purple" and no color appears! The same thing happens with font choice. The only thing that works is add smilies. Sighhhhhhhhhh 3g is me

This is an experiment with colored text. That worked! I just highlighted the sentence, then selected the color. You won't see the actual change until you look at it in Preview.
This is the original font. This an experiment with a different font. Hmm, doesn't look any different, does it?
This is an experiment in changing font size from the original. This doesn't look any different either.

threeg, try it again, but try something different. If you look at the message box when you set the color to purple, you should see something like this: {color=Purple}{/color} Except with square brackets [] instead of curly brackets {}.
Put the text you want to write in between the ] and the [, like this. {color=Purple}Look at this! I'm writing in purple!{/color}
And it will look like this: Look at this! I'm writing in purple!

You can do multiple changes, but you have to nest the tags.
So this:
Color, font, size
Is produced by this:
Color, font, size

That was a test (above.) It didn't work. In fact it didn't even print what I wrote! Why can't we just click like on SS? Can it be changed? It's very frustrating!!! 3g

That was a test (above.) It didn't work. In fact it didn't even print what I wrote! Why can't we just click like on SS? Can it be changed? It's very frustrating!!! 3g ThreeG, I took a look at your code and I think I see what happened. When you hit 'Post', you were probably seeing this: 3g when it should have been: I tried it...no luck. 3g The brackets weren't placed properly. Here are are step-by-step instructions on how to apply the color. Remember, use the 'Reply' or 'Quote' rather than 'Quick Reply'. The latter gives you no formatting options. Use the dropdown list shown above on the left. Select the color you want to use from the list. You will see text that looks like this: Highlight the phrase you want to affect. On 'Preview' and once posted, it will look like this: Highlight the phrase you want to affect.
Choosing the typeface works the same way as the color dropdown list. To add more than one formatting style, highlight your entire phrase and any code previously applied to it, then apply the new style. Try using the 'Preview' button below the composition box. You can experiment with the message coding and hit 'Preview' as often as you like until it looks the way you want it to look. We're composing messages with UBBC code within a text box because the board host set it up this way. It would take different programming to compose messages like SS -- and if you'll recall, it didn't work on all browsers there either. Right now, there is no other option, but the ProBoards programmers are looking at having a user-selectable composition method in the next version. It is tentatively scheduled for beta release next year. Hope this helps!
