I am going to modify this to start off differently. I don't want to sound like I'm whining or complaining about a good thing going. I am such a huge fan of this site. I have advocated for its goodness and usefulness right from the beginning, and I am happy to be here.
I have a suggestion though:
Maybe it's just me, but in my slightly anal obsessive way, I find it strange/frustrating to have to scroll waaaaaaaaaay down to go past all the Announcements to actually get to the Threads.
One of the announcement (re chat) seems like it could be better placed somewhere else (Home?). And one of the announcements is written, and then shows up a second time below (the one that talks about old copyright stuff).
I don't know... it's been bugging me for a while, and it's really petty. I really DO know it's petty.... But the key part of the General Space is to share stories and ask for help. Perhaps those sorts of admin announcements could be placed on the Home/start up page, and not in the actual General Squalor area.
ETA A suggestion would be to have an area labelled Information about this Site. Or Rules for this Site. Or Read this before entering the different Zones. I've seen that sort of things, and it keeps the business/information end separate from the emotional, often frenzied cries for help.

Thanks for writing back, AH!  ETA: Wow.. in the two minutes I read and posted this thank you to AH... the Mods changed the boards!!! WOw.. That is amazing. Thanks for considering and thanks for listening to some ideas. I appreciate the continued changes and improvements that you all make!  |
