We left Thursday from Galveston. We are physically OK. Other wise not so good. I did not take Antonio because I figure a Cat2 Hurricane would be about like the Cat3 that didn't do any damage. There is a very good possibility that he is dead. I have asked but nobody has seen my car that was left behind because it had a low tire and the tire shop had already closed. The level of water in my apartment has been estimated at between 1-7 feet. I may have nothing left of my clothes and personal stuff. I have no idea what to do. I am about to give up!

you have your left and the least the emotional support the members here can give. i'm so sorry it is hard for me to imagine the devastation caused by these hurricanes and your message brings home the way every individual in their path is touched and the stress and worry caused. but you are strong, and it seems grossly unfair and unjust that you should have to prove it over and over in life you are still strong and i have no doubt that after some form of rest, not the least of which you need is just emotional and spiritual that you will continue to be strong and survive and do well.
i am hoping the damage is not as severe as what you anticipate.. my family lives in farmlands so i am use to seeing the damages of severe flooding and understand the soggy mold inducing and demoralising slop it can leave behind at least... i hope that it's not something you have to face.. i am sorry you're left in uncertainty about antonio... not knowing is so difficult.. i just wanted to respond to your post... i can't make anything better, and for that i'm sorry, but you are in my thoughts. and in the wee hours of the morning someone is sending you positive vibes.

I'll be thinking about you as you go through this difficult time. I hope that Antionio is okay and that you catch up to him soon. Maybe he just found a good place to hide.

I'm so very sorry that you - or anyone! - is dealing with this. Good luck getting back home. Hopefully the damage isn't as bad as you're fearing.

You are in my thoughts and prayers (have been for days, actually). I hope it is not as bad as you fear, and that Antonio is waiting for you to give you whatever passes for a happy greeting from an iguana. messymimi

I'm so sorry, IguanaMamma. You were very wise to leave. I hope that Antonio is ok. What a difficult time, and after you worked so hard, too. Many people (including myself) are praying for you and pulling for you.
Such a devastating storm, especially to those like you who were on it leading edge. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time.

Iguanamama, so sorry you are going through this - and so glad you are safe! Don't despair for Antonio yet. His survival instincts may surprise you.

I'm glad you're alive Iguanamamma!!! Everyone has been so worried about you!! I am sorry though, about your apartment, car and all your personal possessions. I sincerely hope that your iguana made it through the storm. If my memory is correct aren't iguana's really good swimmers? He may have found a small niche to survive in. I really hope he did!! But most of all I'm glad that you are okay!!!
