A place were we can put all the links of articles we find about the issues confronting us. I went to have a look what was "out there" on the topics we often talk about and came upon these links, which might interest some of us: WHY ARE WE so ready to throw a thing away when it gets broken or develops a flaw? Why do we more readily replace it, than try to repair it?www.thejournal.ie/readme/column-we%E2%80%99re-spending-our-money-then-throwing-things-away-why/Why is it so hard to throw away photographs?www.50somethingmoms.com/2009/08/why-is-it-so-hard-to-throw-away-photographs.htmlThis talkback is all about clutter and mess. Many of us collect all manner of things from vinyl records to cars. But hoarding can become extreme -- when much of the detritus of everyday life is kept and slowly builds up in the cupboards and on the floors of a home. It’s been estimated that around 1.1 million Australians are compulsive hoarders -- folks that just can’t go past a council clean-up without picking something up.www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/lifematters/hoarding-talkback/3834186There's a great quote from Fight Club, (...) It comes from Tyler Durden, Brad Pitt's character, and it's prophetic — "The things you own end up owning you." After watching several seasons of Hoarders, that's got to be one of the most truthful statements ever to come out of a movie. www.wisebread.com/25-things-to-throw-out-today
The people who never throw things out.www.mamamia.com.au/health-wellbeing/the-people-who-never-throw-things-out/ How to Throw Things Away I typically hate spring cleaning and starting in March I begin to groan as I think about it. Then, as the weather warms and we slide into April, I find myself noticing winter cobwebs more and more until something snaps and I go on a cleaning binge for a week, working room by room, until everything is completely clean and fresh again.scribbit.blogspot.co.at/2010/05/how-to-throw-things-away.htmlObjects of Accumulation By RICK MARIN,Published: April 23, 2010 People spend the first half of their lives accumulating stuff and the last half getting rid of it.www.nytimes.com/2010/04/25/magazine/25lives-t.html?_r=1this last one is the one article (a friend sent me when I complained about having too much stuff) that prompted me to come back to this forum

Some have mentioned Pinterest for various reasons. My daughter was looking for a way to organize her jewelry and so we typed in those terms in the search function , top left of the page and up came several ideas. If you are looking for inspiration for some aspect of home organization, type in -whatever- terms and see what comes up. i.e: kitchen cabinets, children's rooms, supplies, entrance hall, timetables... (BUT Be careful, www.Pinterest.com is a sinkhole for time! )

Structured Procrastination From John Perry's blog: "I have been intending to write this essay for months. Why am I finally doing it? Because I finally found some uncommitted time? Wrong. I have papers to grade, textbook orders to fill out, an NSF proposal to referee, dissertation drafts to read. I am working on this essay as a way of not doing all of those things.
