This feels more user friendly than live-journal (haven`t taken the plunge to sign up for that yet). I`ll be interested to see if anyone takes to it. IMO it might be worth a try, I`ll be checking both to get a feel for what the future holds for us all. Thanks for trying Missy!

I'll work on pretty-ing it up today too. I just don't think I can post on livejournal. it doesn't feel user friendly, and too much of a learning curve to use. i hate saying that though, i feel so negative, and i'm truthfully not a very negative person...

Yes, I like this much better. It's much more like the old style... more homely feeling Mystic Pegasus

I like this format much better too. And I hate saying that I don't like the other one because I'm sure people worked hard on getting it up but it just bewilders me. Another forum I post on went to a similar forum and even though I had been posting with that group for almost 10 years I had to drop out, just couldn't deal with it.

Thanks for starting this! I'm signed up at Livejournal, but I don't think it works well as a message-board-style forum. You're not being negative--this really is much easier to use. I'd be happy to join you.

One big drawback to this forum, is i don't think it appears in any search engines, which means it would have to be linked from another board, or by word of mouth. I think. I'm not 100% positive on that.

Actually, I think most of us would be more worried if posts DID end up in search engines. But you are right, there has to be a way for people to find a forum in the first place.

margaret, Pigpen is planning on putting a link to whatever the successor group is. If it's the LJ group, great. If it's this one, great. But at that point, anyone who finds squalorsurvivors.com can see where the forums went.
Which means... This place should be fairly easy to find, because SS is fairly easy to find.

I don't know if this matters... but when I joined proboards it said it was sending me an email I'd need to verify (so I could get messages, or something). It didn't turn up, so I did a resend. Still no sign of it.
The email address is correct, is not an AOL or even hotmail/gmail type, and I've checked my junk box. Any suggestions?
Is there any problem with not having verified it, do you know? Will I miss anything important? I can read and post here, so it doesn't seem to be an immense issue, but just thought I'd check.

no prob, guys!! i love proboards, and am pretty familiar with it, so it literally took me 10 minutes to set it up, as a trial. if angelinahedgehog wants to change the name, or do whatever to it, i'm game. just thought i would show something that was similar in format to ss.
