It doesn't really help me save time but it's interesting to see another way of doing things. Very clever.

It will be very useful when I find myself posting from Internet Explorer. Thank you, Celeste. I have bookmarked it.

It doesn't really help me save time but it's interesting to see another way of doing things. Very clever. This post is primarily for those who can't access the extra smilies the usual way, sparkle. In that respect, it is far faster to find them all here than try to remember where you last saw the smiley you wanted, search for it, then copy the code!

I forgot what problem I was having at first, I think it was that extra smilies did not post where I had placed the cursor. So, I decided to see what it looks like now. I'll never know because now clicking on an extra smilie totally erases the rest of the post. Looks like it's time for another bug report. I would add the meh but then that would erase everything. hmmm. maybe if I type it in. This is probably what you've been trying to tell me. yep, I see that I will have to type in everything.

I have a question about the smilies. I can access them but up until about a week a go I could put 1 smiley in my post and then any time I needed the same smiley again in the same post I could copy and paste it. Now I can not copy any paste, everytime I try it does nothing. Any suggestion as to what the problem may be.

Roadrunner, ProBoards made a change and for now you mwy have to use the Drag and Drop method.
In addition to the thread step linked above, here is another on the topic. (For now that one is just below this one in the Technical board.)
Here is more information about the Drag and Drop method. The example uses a different image, but Drag and Drop works the same with any image, including the smilies.

Celeste, Sometimes it seems inconvenient, so I haven't been using this much. But today I have this thread open in one window, and whatever thread I'm typing in in another window, and I'm dragging and dropping away. Thanks, Ally

'Preview' is what the Visual Editor is now called.
There seems to have been some changes to how ProBoards works and the drag and drop method doesn't seem to be working anymore. I don't know if they plan to ever bring it back again, but from what I have read, they seem to be thinking not, unfortunately for our IE9 users. But the extended smilies is specific to SOS and is not something used by many other ProBoards Forums, so drag and drop isn't a priority for other forums.
Edit: Trying out drag and drop: gi252.photobucket.com/groups/hh28/1IO3E0AI9A/dusting.gif
Obviously I can still drag'n'drop, but I am not getting the smilie to actually show. I am only getting the URL

copy and paste: This just copies the image location, which is the URL: gi252.photobucket.com/groups/hh28/1IO3E0AI9A/dinosaur.gif (Same result as drag and drop)
Insert image using the copied url:
The second one is done by copying the image's url and then pasting that into the image url box in 'insert image'.
How to post a Smilie Using Insert Image- Copy link (url) for image
- Click 'Insert Image' icon
- Paste url for image
- Click 'Insert Image' button
 - Your Image will appear in Preview (the Visual editor)
- Finish entering your text or add more images
- Create Post
To copy the link for the image, right click on the image you want from Celeste's original post above, and choose 'copy image location' which will copy the URL for the image. You then paste that into the box that pop's up from 'Insert Image' in the instructions.
In this case, I used the rabbit Smilie to copy and paste.
