Is it just me? The smilies are not working correctly for me. This started 2-3 days ago. I had been using the copy/paste method with success when updating my todo lists, but suddenly the paste is not working. I can paste plain text but not those smilies. This makes keeping up with the to do list really cumbersome and it takes long time and lot of patience, since now I have to select each individual checkbox (done or undone) from the drop down menu. And not only that, every time I add a smiley from the dropdown menu the editor changes to the BBcode and I have to click back to "preview" mode. I wouldn't mind BBcode mode otherwise but since the smileys are showing as urls the to do list is really practically unreadable and unuseable on the BBcode mode.
I can take screenshots and make a bug report if necessary, but I thought to ask forts if others are having problems too and perhaps there is a simple explanation (like something was changed with the smilies 2-3 days ago?).

OTM, what a pain for you! Let me take a look around and we will get back to you.
BTW, I have noticed that when the BBC editor changes the code to img links (url's) if I click on the BBC button once, the smilies codes change to an easy to edit shorter code. This is the way I update my Listzilla lists, in BBC. I just find it faster than copying and pasting from the smilie drop-down box. In fact, I do the copying & pasting from the BBC editor, copying code for a done check box and pasting it where the not-done check box was.
PS, what browser (and version) are you using? And what is your operating system (and what version?)

OTM, I did run a test here on the Test Board, of the issue as far as I understood it from your post and I think I was able to duplicate your results. Please take a look at the linked post and see if that's what you were talking about. I used Firefox 12 on Windows 7 Starter for the the first test. I'll switch over to another browser and see what I come up with using IE 8 (I think that's what I have on the netbook), and Chrome 25 & IE 9 (on my laptop), also on a later version of Firefox (on my laptop). But even without doing that, it appears that there is a new problem to address.
Thank you for reporting it. Any more information you can provide will be helpful, though, so please let us know what browser & operating system you are using. And is it only happening from the smilie dropdown boxes or is it only happening from the post Celeste put up here to help people with IE to be able to use the extended smilies?

Now it seems to be fixed. When I first posted that test post in Firefox 12, the smilies in the bottom half of the post appeared a url's only, no smilie. Now they appear as smilies. I don't know if it's because I edited the post in IE8 or if it just magically got fixed on it's own. But the smilies are now smilies.
I'll do some more testing, but if I can't duplicate the problem again, it may be fixed.

Due to idiots DETERMINED to use copy/paste from Word, which has hidden formatting that got copied, ProBoards is taking away our ability to copy/paste images and formatted text. Please see this post at ProBoards Support. Supposedly it works for posts within a forum, which our copy/paste smiley post would cover, but I haven't had success with it. Update: Due to more requests, ProBoards is debating adding it back in. Further word later today.

Thank you eagle and Celeste! So I don't need to provide any more info or take screen captures (eagle the copy paste of smileys still doesn't work for me)? Hopefully I/we can figure out a quick way to use the checkbox smileys!

I opened one tab to reply and one to the smilies post. I used drag and drop to drag a checkmark from one post to the reply area.. That worked. It is slower because I have to hold the dragged image over the tag for a moment or two, but the tab eventually opens and I can drop the image in place.

Thank you eagle and Celeste! So I don't need to provide any more info or take screen captures (eagle the copy paste of smileys still doesn't work for me)? Hopefully I/we can figure out a quick way to use the checkbox smileys! OTM, the way I do it is to keep a template of my list using a copy of from the BBCode editor (where the code for each smilie is shown) and use that for copy/paste.
You can do the same thing by going to one of your own lists and choosing 'edit' then copy from the BBCode editor view (NOT PREVIEW) and then paste it into a new post, again using the BBCode editor.
This is how I always do my checkboxes. It is much faster for me this way than inserting each one one-at-a-time using the smilie drop-down box.
Here is a screen shot of one of my templates so you can see what I mean:

You can see the code for the smilie check boxes that I use. At the bottom is the the code for the done check box that I use. When I go in to edit, I just change the "-to-do" to "-done" in the BBCode editor.
Maybe that would make this process easier for you. Once you find the checkboxes you like to use, copy the code from the BBCode editor & save it as a template. Then using the BBCode editor make your updates to your list. I find it much easier than copying & pasting or dragging and dropping within the Visual editor (also known as "Preview"). But that's my preferred method. If you don't find it useful, please ignore.
