***UPDATING AS I GO .... THINGS ARE GRADUALLY MOVING FROM THE TO DO TO THE TA DA***I have a busy day of EMERGENCY CLEANING!! I have started the process of Legal Guardianship for my 18 yo (adult) special needs daughter. I am her care provider, but have to get this done so we don't hit any walls with her medical care, etc. We had some minor hiccups with her being in the hospital last month. Part of the guardianship process is having a court appointed 'Guardian ad litem' who does a report for the court. He comes to the house and meets my daughter and me and probably asks a zillion questions. But of course he is going to see our HOUSE too. And I know he'll want to see her room. He called yesterday to schedule. I tried for end of next week but I got the response something about it had to be done within 5 days. So since I am working Friday and next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, I just bit the bullet and said OKAY to today at 4:00 pm. I didn't get home from work until 6:30 pm last night, had to fix dinner and we did a little clean up then. I am thankful for my 27 yo daughter. I asked her if she could help with anything (she never does) when she was here with the kids. But she DID! She picked up a ton of toys and laundry from my living room. I still look at it and see mess, but it's all toys, etc on the toy/book shelves. You can walk through here. So yeah if he came into my house now, it would probably be okay in this room. I have a lonnnnng list in my head of what I want done. I know I can't get it all done today. But I am going to list it all off. I am home from work today but work tomorrow. But then have 3 days off. I want to focus on a few things in the living areas since my mom will be here watching kids for me tomorrow. We have quite the balancing act this month for kid care. My oldest daughter who did kid care for a year for me quit in May. My 18 yo niece took over for May, June & July. But she's in NE at college now. I am feeling a little overwhelmed today too. My special needs daughter needs to have an operation, probably late September/early October. She has a blood disorder we found out called Moya-moya. She had a stroke in March which has led the doctors to discover this was the cause. She will need to be sedated next month and have an angiogram done so they can confirm if just the left side of her brain is affected or if it is the right also. Then they will know the areas they need to focus on for the surgery. It is just scary thinking about someone cutting into your child's skull and moving blood vessels around. FOCUS ..... HOUSEWORK should help clear my mind.
TA DA
Sort dirty laundry & start load Make appt for angiogram Make pre-op appt Talk to Dad about Wednesday kidcare help Text Mom & sisters about preop appts Pick up dirty dishes in living room Dishes - unload dishwasher, load & run Put away misc dishes on counter Clear junk from counter #1 Clear junk from counter #2 - stuff is sorted into 2 boxes now Take boxes out to recycle bin

Hi MamaAngie. I am so sorry to read about your dd's stroke. I hope all goes well with the upcoming angiogram, and the docs get the answers they need. Sending out hugs and prayers to you, her and the rest of your family, and all involved.

Hi MamaAngie. I am so sorry to read about your dd's stroke. I hope all goes well with the upcoming angiogram, and the docs get the answers they need. Sending out hugs and prayers to you, her and the rest of your family, and all involved. Thank you hollyhock . The angiogram is scheduled for a couple weeks away, then doctors. I am guessing she will have her surgery late Sept/early Oct. Thankfully I have family nearby that is willing to help with the other kids while she is in the hospital. Hubby will probably spend the first night with her. That will be the night before the operation and when they need to get an IV in her, which requires holding her to get in. (He is the muscle of our marriage.) I will spend 2 or 3 nights then in the hospital with her so we will definitely need our families help with the other kids .... getting them to and from school, etc. Not sure how many days after the hospital she will be home before returning to school. I pretty much already told my new boss that I will do what I can to schedule the surgery around our work schedule (like other people out on vacation) but she does come first. And if it overlaps with something else, I can't really help it.

ugh .... this day is going to be BUSY! It is so hard for me to do lots of housework in a day, but I have no choice. The whole house needs a good cleaning and purging. But I will need to focus on the PUBLIC rooms. Wednesday am I have an appointment at our house at 10:00 am. It is our annual meeting with the lady from Division of Disability. She is usually here 1.5 to 2 hours going over a ton of questions on the care my daughter needs, which determines our respite hours we receive monthly for her. I was not feeling good this weekend, so really did not get anything done on the days I could have. And then yesterday was up early to work, home for eclipse, nap, doctors appointment for my other daughter and then anniversary dinner with hubby. I did tell him he is going to have to help me tonight after work. I have the week off from work for vacation (mostly because we don't have our old childcare anymore and someone needs to be here with the kids.)
There is so much that needs to be done in these rooms! There are toys and junk toys and bits of everything (including clothes, trash, etc) that land on the floor thanks to my little beasts. I feel like I am always picking up. But then there are the "edges of the rooms" that stuff just gravitates towards.

In true Angie form, I did not finish all I wanted to yesterday. By 8:00 pm, I wanted to relax and I said, "oh it looks good enough." I am thankful that my husband took the trash out this morning and cleared the trash I had tossed out on the porch. He also took my donation boxes as promised. The main areas do look 100 times better than yesterday am. And I am sure this lady walks into peoples homes that look way worse. But I still hate it being messy. I seriously would clean and area and my son would come and mess it up somehow yesterday. Shined refrigerator? Let me make a finger paint rainbow out of some mystery item. Shoe bench in entry way all cleared? Oh, I think my snack trash should go there with a couple of my toys. *sigh* I didn't even touch his toys in the family room that area scattered everywhere. If it was just toys, it would not look so bad. But he has all the teeny tiny toys littered in there, train pieces, a random fruit snack wrapper and BOXES. He loves to keep boxes from everything! I have to sneak them out of the house. There are boxes from old train sets he got that he insists he needs. Well it's almost 7 am. All 3 of the kids are sleeping. I am hoping that he sleeps in! The less he is up, the less time he has to terrorize the house before my appointment.

A day with 2 children home. One had a huge meltdown at school yesterday and the teachers and principal decided a 2-hour stand off with him over cleaning up some toys was a good idea. My husband was there with him until about 6 pm. I was off at the hospital dealing with my 18 yo who had just come back from a sedated MRI and getting her discharged from hospital. And then 1.5 hours of traffic! I am exhausted today but trying to get a few things done since I am out from work "sick" due to my kiddos.

So many things to do this week! I seemed to really get off track after having 2 work weeks blend right into each other. A lot of 3-4 hour days as I came in on days off to cover for vacation and train someone new. But I still got behind and didn't feel like doing much when I was home. Now it is CRUNCH TIME!! My 19 year old daughter with Down Syndrome and Autism is having her surgery on Thursday. So that is just 5 days to get myself organized and house somewhat under control before life gets really chaotic! Of course I have to work Sunday thru Wednesday as well. I will be off Thursday through Sunday for her surgery and hospital recovery. Then my work days will jump around after she is home as we will all be taking turns with who is home with her.
