Messymama, I certainly hope today was a better day for you than yesterday was, and I hope it was poop-free! (Well, as poop-free as a house with small kids can be.) You need a holiday after your holiday weekend.

Messymama, I certainly hope today was a better day for you than yesterday was, and I hope it was poop-free! (Well, as poop-free as a house with small kids can be.) You need a holiday after your holiday weekend. Diane Thanks Diane. People seem to be better here today. No yuckies from the little one and girls haven't complained about not feeling good. I am tired tonight .... no nap after work. And don't think the kids are going to bed early tonight. I was home for 20 minutes today and then hubby left for work. So no time to rest. We have experienced the "3's" .... you know how they say things happen in 3's. 1.5 weeks ago our a/c went out. Had someone here to fix that, replace the compressor. Then Tuesday my husband's car had to be towed home by a relative. Starter went out. That is being repaired tomorrow .... had to wait for the part to come in. And now I have an appointment Monday for Sears to come and look at our dryer and hopefully repair. ugh! For my accomplishments today ..... Hung up load laundry to dry - load I washed last night but didn't put in dryer after pulling the last out of a very hot and smelly dryer Fold & put away 4 loads clean clothes - 7 yo helped with putting away some and hanging up shirts Gather dirty dishes from beasties Gather dirty laundry from various rooms (not washing but I can still pick up) Unload dishwasher - with help from 7 yo Work 8 hour shift Feed all those complaining "I'm hunnnnnnnnnngry!" Doesn't look like a lot. But the laundry was about 1.5 hours of work.

Hello. Good day to you. I hope your day is going as well as possible. Sorry about all the repairs being needed. I store lettuce in mason jars too. Good that 7 yo is enjoying chores and helping. Way to go cleaning out a shelf in the fridge and all else that was done before.

Hello. Good day to you. I hope your day is going as well as possible. Sorry about all the repairs being needed. I store lettuce in mason jars too. Good that 7 yo is enjoying chores and helping. Way to go cleaning out a shelf in the fridge and all else that was done before. Thanks nekomom. Well the repairs I am not fond of. So far the a/c and van haven't been too bad. Waiting to find out the damage tomorrow on the dryer. $79 just to get them to come out. My dryer is only 1.5 years old ..... so past the warranty of course. I am thankful that hubby and I have worked some extra hours this last month or so and his tips have been good. I was hoping to have some money for my trip in 10 days. My mom has said, "don't worry ... I've got us covered," but I don't want her to buy all the meals. Somehow I know it'll all work out though. In the past, we would have been borrowing money from her and not paying bills to get all these things taken care of. On the 7yo, I am thankful she is enjoying helping right now. Today I don't plan on getting much out of her. Hubby picked up the toy she was saving for last night so she'll be engaged with that for hours. Well just popped in here to check in and now back to the kitchen. Have a nice day!

Wanted to summarize yesterday as I felt like such a failure. But I know I did things. TUESDAY sWork 3:00 - 9:00 am Dollar Tree Hurry up tidy living room -- did toss out some random piece of toys, trash, etc found in toys and living room Vacuum - showed 7 yo. She got tired and hubby finished Teacher visit for 2 yo - 10:30 - 11:30 am Nap - 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm Opened mail - tossed junk, envies, etc and filed bills to be paid Kitchen trash & recycle emptied Sort box of clothes sister left for 2 yo - pack up large to save, too small for donation & those that might fit to laundry room Box of donation to van - sent with hubby Load towels - wash, dry, fold & put away Dishwasher - unload, load & run Tossed a couple toys sister gave kids that were broke - think she had these boxed up a long time and didn't realize condition Receipts entered in checkbook Tons of misc items picked up and put in their proper places Huge pile of Tupperware/Rubbermaid sitting on kitchen counter put away - cupboard they go in tidied up Old food stuff from fridge tossed Not a huge list, but I feel better knowing I did some things. I had a 3.5 hour break from all 3 kids. My sister took them with her kids to the park, out to ice cream and then to her house. They all had such a good time. Hubby and I got a little quiet time together, had lunch and then I got my nap. He even said, "It's too quiet here." !! Hubby's accomplishments yesterday also were getting a new battery in his car. Going and gassing up my car. And cleaning out the dryer vent.

Yesterday was another blah day due to way too little sleep. I am feeling pretty good this morning so hoping the 4 hours of sleep I got last night will do the trick. Seriously hoping I can squeeze in a 1 hour power nap after work and before hubby leaves. I was so thrilled to be scheduled off at 10 am today instead of noon. I used to get off at 11, but things have changed and my new regular time will be 4 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. Hubby usually leaves for work at 3:45 pm. But alas he has to go in 3 hours early today to help cover for vacation. I am running out of time to get all the things I want done before Wednesday when I leave on my 4 day vacation. Last nights accomplishments were minimal - Dishes
- Empty bathroom trash
- Toss old underwear
- Bag up old shirts for donation
- Add 2 other items to donation bag
- Hang up new clothing
- Enter 2 days receipts in checkbook & balance
- Swap laundry in machines - have not folded any
It was truly a very unproductive evening. I have to kick it into gear today and for the next 4 days.

Good morning MM, I hope you get tons done today. Is your whole family going on vacation? Or is it really going to be a vacation for you? How did the dryer repair go--expensive? Diane Good morning Diane. I really am feeling overwhelmed with all I need/want to get done in my house and also getting ready for the vacation. I am going without my kids and hubby. So a REAL vacation. My mom and I are going to Salt Lake City to a convention. So some of it is going to be fun and some will be boring. But I don't have to get up at the butt crack of the morning for work. I should in theory get more sleep than I normally do. I don't have to do any dishes or laundry or cooking. It will be slightly overwhelming as the convention has almost 6,000 attendees. So feel like a total idiot on the dryer! Our dryer was fine. We paid $115 for the guy to come out and ask, "When's the last time you cleaned your vent out?" Well how about NEVER! Nobody ever gave me this instruction in life. We have owned the house for 4 years. Honestly though nobody ever did this anywhere I lived and I lived in a couple rentals for 3 years and one for 9! Hubby bought the do-it-yourself cleaner kit for $36 at Lowe's and got it done. It took a little cussing and from what I hear (I was napping that day) a tennis ball and some duct tape for retrieving the brush when it popped off and 2 days of cleaning it, but we're all good now. He told me it was good and then that day I was drying and my whole laundry room was steaming up. So he got back at it 2 days later and cleaned out a bunch more lint. Oh well .... expensive lesson, but lesson learned.

Thanks Diane! Phew I'm exhausted already and we just got here in SLC 3.5 hours ago. Up super late last pm packing, doing laundry and working on my card swaps I procrastinated on. Up at 5 am to work on them some more. I was still throwing things in suitcase when my mom showed up. Our room is nice and hotel is right next to mall and across street from Salt Palace Convention center. We did lunch in mall and my uncle and aunt are taking us to dinner tonight.

See, I don't have a smart phone, so I forget that people can stay connected through the internet even though they're on vacation! I figured we wouldn't hear from you until you came home.
I hope you're enjoying yourself. Is you husband home from work to take care of the kids? I love when a husband has to occasionally do all the kid work--I think it helps them appreciate what it entails.
