This will be perfect displayed on a shelf next to my unusable antique sewing machine.

Whoosh! Aahhhhhh uh-oh.... THUNK!
Well, now I've tripped on this thread, after slip-sliding through my living room. But I'm okay, nothing broken. Wait - what is stuck to the bottom of my foot?

I have just read this whole thread for the first time ! And a little over an hour ago, it was still my birthday. And I am the oldest one here ! So IT. SHOULD. BE. MINE...... !!!!! I must own it ! I must ! I have given compelling reasons ! MINE.MINE.MINE. ! catcat P.S. And I will cry if you all won't give it to me. LOUD. I told all of you TWO yrs. ago that it was MINE. Again, my B.Day is only a half hour past. I was hoping to get this as a surprise gift, although 2 yrs. late. I would have been gracious & all. But NO_OO_OOO. I am so unhappy now. My slippers are full of tears. Keyboard ruined. I may just have to quit this site. catcat Oh my goodness. You did indeed request it. My dear catcat, The biggest of birthday love hugs to you. I must confess that I got this post all ready to wrap for you, as a present. But then I couldn't decide if I should buy wrapping paper or if that wasn't an environmentally responsible idea. Then I thought of recycled wrapping paper, but I couldn't figure out where to get that. Then I thought of looking through my own pile of unsorted stuff to recycle, but never get around to dealing with. I found a piece of old used aluminum foil I could use to make shiny silver wrapping paper. I was going to try to clean it and iron it. But then I couldn't find the iron. And meanwhile the foil got ripped and torn. And it smelled sort of moldy. An acquaintance of mine saves the colored comic-strips section from the Sunday newspapers, to use as wrapping paper every year. I was going to call her to ask for some, but I lost her phone number which I had written on the back of an old envelope somewhere. I've read that some people buy new "tea towels" (dishtowels) and wrap presents in those ... so they are giving the gift plus the towel. But I didn't know what color/design of towel to buy for you. I got totally mired in the perfectionism of how to "properly" give you a gift, and then it was after midnight and I fell asleep in my chair whilst ruminating about all this. I finally realized I needed amnesty from preconceived ideas of proper presentation of a present. But I had misplaced this thread again. Once I found it again, I decided to just give it to you, unwrapped. But I hope you'll promise to leave it lying around for all of us to trip over it occasionally. ^ posts from 2014 and 2016. Hmmmmmm. This thread was given to catcat on her birthday May 29, 2016. It has been over a year, and I see that people are now tripping over it again. catcat , it would seem that you have graciously received the gift, enjoyed it for a year, and then let it go by donating it to the group? Thank you! I hope this brings you some cheer today.

So nice to trip over this post instead of something that will hurt my big toe and send me flat onto my face knocking my teeth out.

I just now tripped over a box I'm positive I've never seen before, or maybe I have seen it... Come to think of it, I'm not certain or uncertain whether or not I've seen it before. Anyway, I sat here trying not to think about it for a long while, racking my brain over where it could've come from. I don't know what finally prompted me to open this scary box, because I still am not "ready" to open ANY more boxes after such a long time avoiding such a thing, but open it I did. Inside, to my surprise, I found this thread, and only this thread - which I *have* seen before! Aaawww! I love this thread. It makes me smile, and feel all warm and fuzzy. The first time this thread mysteriously appeared to me a couple years ago, I ignored it for several months, as instructed in the title, but curiosity eventually won out. I loved it so much I decided I could be a part of this group, so I put it safely away somewhere at my previous house where it wouldn't get lost. When I really needed it,again, I searched long and hard, but never found it. Sigh. I did not put it in a box at my old home. Of that, I am almost 0.5% certain. Then, in rereading just now, I discovered it was given previously to catcat for her birthday, but apparently she gave it back to the group before her most recent birthday? Did my packers find my safe spot and send it back to CourageouslyLion SeeksSerenity or catcat, thinking I had far too many things to fit in the moving truck, and didn't need to keep it? If so, why would lion or catcat send it back to me in a box? I have 87 boxes to unpack, give or take 20 or 30. I don't need another box, not even one that only has one item to unpack. Or, did the packers put the box on the moving truck, and I've only now noticed it, 17 months later, by tripping over it? Obviously, I feel a sentimental attachment to it. Perhaps, I should put it safely away where I can find it, and so it won't get lost in the clutter, or land in a random stack, pile, bin, basket or even yet another box of churned things that gets sealed up and placed "in storage" for later consideration. First, I think I will reread the thread a few times in case I missed anything important, then take a nap. If I sleep on it, there is a good chance I will end up leaving it lying about where I originally saw it a couple years ago - where someone else may trip over it. Hmmm...I'm sleepy, so leaving it lying about for the next who-knows-how-long until I figure out what to do about it is a risk I'll have to take. If that happens, though, I wonder what I will put in this strange, empty box sitting in the middle of my floor? Meh. No matter. I'm sure I will need to stash a pile of something in it.

Look what I just found! It was hidden down inside my couch, along with the Kindle I'd been searching for for about a year!
I feel really guilty about it---the last time I remember using it, I was sitting in my garage, waiting for the garage door installers to come. I had given up hope of finding it, and was starting to wonder if I had left it laying in the garage and one of the (many!) installers had swiped it. I don't know exactly who I was wrongly accusing of stealing it, but I would like to send out an apology and hope he understands.

Hey, guys? Guys? So, I was wandering around the forum because I've become a lurker in the past year because of being a coward about all my life changes, and I tripped on this. It's been almost 7 years! Did you know this thread was still here? Gosh, I haven't seen it in ages! I think I might be able to get it neatened up. Maybe we could finally make a book or use it to decoupage a table? What do you think? It really is too good to get rid of.
