Watching my nephew tomorrow morning at my mom's house, so I will be able to do a couple loads of laundry there... so close to being completely caught up!! Still lots to fold, but only 2 small baskets, and 1 large hamper to wash...

RedSalem, well done on the end being in sight! All you need to do now is keep up! Even if the laundry piles up again, you know that you can catch up because you've done it before. MammaAngie, I hope you get caught up! You mentioned a flood - sorry to hear about that - I hope things are back to normal for you and the family. The other day I had a conversation via text messaging with my 31 year old autistic son about laundry. He was on a break at work at the time. I told him I had moved a pile of clothes from the bottom of his bed and asked him if he had worn any of it recently. Son: I'm not sure. I take a photo of said clothes and send it to him. Me: Can you see any of these? Son: Well, I'm probably not going to wear the jacket for a while. Me: The reason I asked was so that I could tell if they need washed. Son: I suppose so. Me: So, you have worn them recently? Son: I don't think so. Me: Do you know if they've been washed since you last wore them? Son: No Me: You don't know or they haven't been washed? Son: The former Me (having given up on finding out if these things actually needed washed): Ok, I see. Maybe I should have smelt the things, although generally he lets his clothes drop on the floor when he takes them off. He just can't commit to a straight yes or no answer. 'Probably' or 'I think so' is the nearest he can get to a yes answer. He does usually gather up his own laundry when I ask him to but on this occasion I was on a laundry gathering roll . Gillian

Laundry started --- clothes from last night in dryer, dirty stinky pee pee bedding in washer. Stripped my bed too. (Like I need more laundry to wash!)

gillian, it doesn't take long for them to pile up with a family of 7, but with the backlog finally done, everything will be easier to go through so we can downsize the amount of clothes we all have... I have regularly been weeding out the baby clothes that are too small for dd2 (almost 8 months old), and sending them to my cousin who has twin girls that are 2 months old. They appreciate the extra clothes, and it gets them out of the way. Washed 3 huge loads at the laundromat and brought them home to dry. Have dried, folded, and put away 2 loads already, and trying to fold as they come out, to keep them from piling up.

If you saw the rest of my house, still, you would realize I'm hardly a role model, but it is nice to finally have the laundry monster mostly tamed!!

I'm joining this one, too. We have a huge backlog. To be honest, I think most of the backlog is getting thrown out. Some of it got damp. Some of it doesn't fit anyone and some of it is stained.
If I had the money, I'd toss it all and start over. But I don't so I can't.
Anyway, 2 loads washed and dried. 3 total are still waiting to be folded but at least its clean.
