I try not to think too much about it really!! If I see something that needs doing, I do it. I try not to think ahead of it, or about it while I'm working. It's just something that has to be done and I've been elected for the job. If I think too much about it then I start to get l@zy, or resentful, or I put it off.... Sometimes I do put on music but not always. I do know that if I've been working really hard at something for a long period of time I will reward myself with something chocolate. Perhaps not the best habit to get into but it does make me feel better about the whole thing!!

I don't think positive or negative. Really. Sometimes I think about it as something that I have to do, like my job. Other times, I do things like cleaning my bathroom sink after I use it. Then I swish my toilet. I wipe down my counter tops while making toast. Things like that. I love working in threes because having a list of all my accomplishments to refer to makes me feel better about what I've done. Speaking of that...today is my only day off for the next 7 days, and nobody started WITS yet! 3G

I have never found myself to be positive about cleaning, however I become quite negative seeing mess/clutter/piles forming, then work on correcting the problem. Because the piles/clutter/mess bothers me very much.
To me, cleaning is not fun - but, the results of not seeing things piled or messy is fun and that's the reward for me. The end result is the reward. The end result is what is positive.
Don't know how to make the actual cleaning positive, though. But, I do it anyway, or else I become extremely annoyed at myself.
It is the same with yardwork. I do not enjoy working in the yard at all, and am very glad when it is done and the yard looks nice. The end result is always my reward.

Sometimes it helps me to think in terms of "restoration". Instead of thinking about what's being removed from an item or surface, I try to think about how the item or surface is being restored to its former glory.

I am rarely positive about my housework until after it's done. What I try to do is to be "in the moment" and be mindful about what I'm doing. If I can, I tell myself that I am making a positive step, and contributing to making my home a beautiful place and to making myself a calmer, more appreciative person. I am also a religious person (I'm a Quaker, not yet officially, but that's what I identify with the most), so it helps me to remember that every good act I perform is showing my appreciation to God for the life with which I have been blessed. I try to go about my day in such a way that I will go to bed knowing that I did my very best at everything that I did. Of course, being imperfect, I don't manage this all the time, or even often, but I try. Quakers put it as walking, or being, "in the Light," which is an image I quite like. "Walk in the light," is a phrase I repeat to myself when I remember to, and it helps. Music helps me through housework when I don't want to be mindful about what I'm doing. Being mindful about cat poop is Not Fun. So I use music to drown out my thoughts and lend a rhythm to my work. I use dance music, or anything with a good, solid beat behind it. I like cheerful, happy music, but I figure anything that's not relaxing music would serve just as well. Hope this helps! ~Mouse

I once took off all my clothes to clean house. I moved stuff around, scrubbed and vaccuumed like carzy. I got so sweaty,I was dripping and needed a shower. But I liked the way it felt. Might do that again. I also put on music I like (The Beatles) and do one thing for as long as a song lasts. That's generally about 3 minutes, unless I play The White Album.

Nude, hum, well that could be kinda dangerous, I mean things could get in the way or well, um??? Ok, I know, I know, enough In the summer, I actually like to clean in my bathing suit, that way I can hop in the shower to cool off and hit the pool when I'm done.
