I haven't done any more paper decluttering since my last post - have been working very long hours the last week. Today I spent a good half hour sorting through the papers that have accumulated on my kitchen table - I'm shocked at how fast they have built up! I opened all the mail, filed some and the rest I have just sorted into piles that I will work through.

Today I received an official letter in the mail confirming my "hardship" status with the state tax board for the next 12 months. Unfortunately it also confirms that penalties will continue to accrue. Well, so be it.
Meanwhile to counterbalance that trauma's aftereffects, I am doing zero-stress paperwork of browsing through my backlog of unread magazines every day, then donating them one by one to my building's free box. Also I'm still processing the daily mail with ease.

Greetings, paper de-clutterers! I'm back! I sorted through the paper piles on the end table and the...I'll call it the telephone table. It really wasn't that bad. The work I did before made a difference. Much to do, but I'm glad to be moving forward on the paper clutter again. A few days ago I did an initial mail sort. I need to get back to it tomorrow.

Hi ladies, I new here! You can read my introduction on the "Introuce yourself"-board.
Paper clutter is one of my main problems. I have absolutely 0 organisation that works regarding bills and important papers. I also buy far too many magazines and then I get stressed that there are stacks of undread magazines everywhere. I also have too many books.
Accomplished today: Threw out a stack of magazines. Bought a file for my incoming bills and papers and a binder where I will put them after they are paid.
Mission: Throw out more magazines Decide what magazines I "need" to buy every month (maybe 3) and skip the rest.

Hi desi! A big hearty to our hardy little band of paper warriors! Piece by piece, file by file, magazine by magazine, we are learning to conquer our fears and compulsions, and show those papers who's boss!

Welcome desi! I'm sitting here procrastinating. Thought I'd try to break the pattern by at least reading this thread! Glad you're here! We will give it a go together. Good job on ditching a pile of magazines. I'm trying to channel some of the power of that whip wielder, papermoon! Those are supposed to be the lions and tigers and bears of paper clutter. Nothing to be afraid of! Wouldn't it be fun to have a set of The Wizard of Oz emoticons?

Hi Desi good to have you here! I like the idea of Wizard of Oz emoticions grasshopper, a pair of ruby slippers would be nice papermoon, sorry to hear that the penalties continue, you're doing such a good job on the paper clutter well I have kept up with processing the days mail, I've been doing a bit of paper filing each day and I now have only a small section of the dining table left with paper clutter. I still haven't been to the bank to sort out mums estate yet and I do have a few more bills left to pay which I'm going to do by the weekend.

Threw out a pile of loose recipes and nutritional information that I never look at, and we have the internet now. 4 cookbooks in the give away pile.
