I think I count 10 or more people participating. YAY for us! Think of how many bags that will add up to over 40 days DAY 2- I went through our puzzles and games and got more than a grocery bag's worth to donation pile

Day #3: I tossed a few more things from bathroom. It's pretty well down to bare essentials, except for a few things I am trying to use up and am using. I cleaned my bathroom. For me, I am evolving my challenge to mean "40 bags or 40 areas of clean/clutter free". I figure cleaning my bathroom should count for something if I end up with a clutter free and clean area that wasn't before. But that's just my own interpretation for me. Sorry, meant to post yesterday, and couldn't find the thread. So anyway, on to day #4.

I'm not doing this challenge but I just wanted to post and say that I'm reading this thread every day, and love to imagine the clear space left behind when each bag leaves your homes. By the way dragonfly, yes, cleaning your bathroom surely counts! Diane

Filled medium bag of trash in sunroom. 5 of 40 for me. As for what qualifies for a bag, that's up to each of us. For me today it was a medium bag, another day the bag was smaller, and yesterday it was 'an area'. Whatever works. And I'm a bag ahead for a day when it isn't going to get done.

A little bit behind. Tossed one large bag of trash If you are feeling overwhelmed or behind, us smaller bags! That large bag might be equvalent to 2 or 3 or more small bags. See now you are all caught up! What counts is getting it out! The last couple of days I didn't fill any bags, but I did put all of the junk mail into a box to be recycled. I plan to fill a bag later today.

All time for an update Day 3 -- garage -- I thought that I had more trash in the garage then what I actually have so I am having to change my POA. Instead of bags I will focus on items and change my goal to sorting the "stuff" and trashing the "crap". I will handle 40 items a day -- sorting by keep and category -- donate -- sell -- and crap/trash. Day 3 handled 40 items books to donate, some trash, 4 items back to house (they were stash and dash items from Christmas Preparations) 3 items to donate pile. Day 3 and day 4 -- Decrapfied 12 square foot each day for a total of 24 -- The Print Media Section is looking great and is now functional. I am really liking this 40 day 40 bags goal/concept. I know the 40 bags and 40 days is actually tied to Lent and the preparation before Easter but I think after this 40 day stint I think I will take a 7 day break and then go another 40 days setting new goals. I can hardly wait to get to the 40th day and see my accomplishments and to have the freedom to select new goals. ONWARD

Hi, I joined SOOS yesterday and put a post on introductions. Still finding my way around. But I found this thread and am so excited about this challenge. I have been tackling getting rid of stuff for many years. I have been making my own way with methods that have been slow at times due to attachment issues to my stuff. I am trying to progress from letting go of things that are broken and of no use to anyone to things that others could enjoy through a charity donation. I say to myself "that is x amount of items that have left my house today forever". I figure that with the amount of stuff going and hardly any new items being purchased, I must be making progress. Today I'm back onto it, 3 sample cosmetic sachets 1/2 used, 8 pieces of paper, 4 teeshirts (1980's), and an old scarf. Back to it...............
