Heard essential oils specifically eucalyptus was good as flea preventive but turns out not for cats. Glad I looked up info on web. Great for dogs though. No citrus oils either although you can comb hair with lemon water or apple vinegar with no ill effects. Will be taking all back to store in am. No more acquiring done now.

Went into town today for some essentials and non-essentials.
Bought: Hay for the goats Goat protein block for them as a treat Cat food 2 twirly bird cat toys Chew toy for the parakeets Groceries for me: cereal, vegetables, soup Went to three of the local thrifts looking for long-sleeves t-shirts. Didn't find any. Left two of the three stores empty handed but found two items at VV: a 100% cashmere sweater in green. A couple of small holes but doesn't matter, will be very nice for casual wear this winter. And a dark brown ribbed turtleneck to go into my winter "uniform" (ribbed turtleneck sweaters, corduroy pants, patterned wool scarves, quilted vests, cardigans.)

I have spent so much money this past week, I can't begin to list it all. A week ago Tuesday, I was buying stuff to help with Mother's care: baby monitors, trash cans, toiletries, towels and wash cloths, pillows, sheets and pillow cases (because the "pair and a spare" doesn't work when you have someone sick), all sorts of foodstuff she might want, anything and everything I thought might contribute to her care or give her comfort. Then I was paying for stuff related to the funeral. Flowers, photo frames/display stuff, clothes (DGS had outgrown his suit, and I could not find my black dress). Paying for preachers and singers and limousines and obituaries, and all sorts of extra funeral home services, and motel rooms for out of town family, dining out, extra food in the house, even extra gasoline. The expenditures have been staggering, and I haven't finished paying yet. The business I work for, bless their hearts, paid me a month's wages, even though I haven't hit a lick at anything work-related all month. I will sit down in the next few days and try to tally up the finances.

Nothing acquired so far except later we're getting Kona ice. And check just went thru for uniforms we bought at competition. So technically we acquired them today! Check was written last month for Cheer competition.

Exhubby paid for paper towels, scouring pads and sponges so I could do dishes. He then proceeded to pay for Kona Ice drinks for after school.
Afterwards he paid for knee brace...my daughter hurt her knee.
Exhubby bought sheers for my daughter's room in her favorite color...purple.
And since my pants were migrating to my hips he paid for a belt for me...reversible silver and black.
Afterwards He bought snacks and drinks. So while I have acquired several items I haven't paid for any of them which makes my day.
None of what was bought was junk. All was needed and I am happy.

I was at a conference yesterday and we were given a bag of materials, including a plastic drinking bag - it would shape like a bottle when full. Has anyone ever tried one of these? I am worried that the water would get a chemical taste from it. My sister gave me a plastic traveling mug last week, but a cocoa I put in it also got a chemical taste. I think I will give it one more try and if it still tastes funny out it goes.

Today's acquisitions are groceries and e drink. Still need contractor bags for yard work and bar oil for chainsaw I am borrowing from neighbor.
Got son a ball which he wanted and daughter Polly pocket doll and body mist. Total 11 bucks but kids happy with it.
Hopefully this will make up for possibly missing Squalorfest. Not looking good!
Got contractor bags, bar oil and soda.

Went back to VV yesterday looking for 2 memory foam pillows that I had passed on the other day. They were gone so I looked at pants and found a pair of brown slacks, new. They will be great for the current season and match the brown turtleneck I bought earlier this week.

I bought yarn. Yes I did. I bought enough for a scarf project, learning a new technique. Then I bought snuggly soft yarn to make a pair of socks for my nephew for Christmas. I forgot to say the other day when I bought the pants that I also bought a new in package Singer Handy Stich. It's a little hand-held sewing machine/mender. I already have one but wanted a back up. It's little and it was new and it was cheap. :/
