isignandlaugh: You've started a new "mantra" for me! All day, I've been saying to myself, "A fraction of action is far better than doing NOTHING!!" That's helped to keep me moving . . . Thanks so much for that! I **KNOW** that I wouldn't have gotten as much done today as I did (and even then, it was precious little! !!) had I not kept saying that to myself. Today would have been a "wasted" day for me. I'm so glad that you've joined the board! Arid

Hooray! Trash-getting-out --by bits, piles, bags, scraps-- counts. Somethimes TWICE!! And, gets cheers! Look at them up there! I'd like to harness some of that energy!
The recycling bin is stuffed with more stuff standing by to jump in after the truck empties it tomorrow. The big trash bin is full and ready to go to the curb in the morning. Quickly organized camping things (sleeping bags, pads, etc.) in white trash bags labeled with sharpie pen, set into a new little space in the garage.
Sidetracked with mother-in-law (living with us) and helping her with business matters.
I have a pretty good list of goals ready for tomorrow. Looking manageable...if I don't use sneaky avoidance measures to procrasti...not going to, just not.
must get sleep to do it. night night. : )

Some people say do the thing you dont want to do...do that first. Others say pick the two or three biggest items (ie if yo care clearing off a table or counter) and deal with those first. It is important to JUST DO SOMETHING!!!!!

(loud kiss sound) Thank you, Arid, and Wynken and Blondie! And, thank you, Arid, for the super little ditty chant! I'm heading out there to the land of Ickie with that beat in my head. There are other "important" things I would rather do, but, arg, it is there waiting and taunting me. I want it done now and I know it's going to take longer than I want to know right now. 6' x 10' x 12' of who knows what. At 1 square foot per half hour...hmmm, it would be fun and illuminating and educational to do the math... : ) Off I go. No you-know-what-ing.

I love reading of new folk doing what isingandlaugh is doing. Dividing and conquering little space by little space. You help me with the courage to attack my own. Little space by little space. One Item At A Time.

Thank you, Wynken! How are your little spaces today?
Those Little Spaces are so lovely. Where I am in the trenches right now, they don't last; they get plastered with the next box or pile scraped over the top of it. But it FEELS LIGHTER. So I'll grab hold of that for inspiration.
I have a nagging correspondence thing I was supposed to do um...a few days ago. I keep writing it in my head and I feel like I'm dragging it around with me. It's getting heavy. Procrasti-not Deadline for myself: 4:45, then drive to P.O. and be done. Go

WooHoo and Yikes! Some schedule changes today have presented me with about 1.5 hours of time to excavate.
Starting at about 10:00 west coast time. A little excited for the opportunity. Anxious and a little nauseous when I think about it and know how awful it will be.
So I'll not think about it now, except to take one quick peek at the Big Ickie and promise not to abandon it by finding other important things to do.

Clock is striking 10:00. There are so many things that I could do with this time instead of what I promised above...
I'd rather prune the lemon tree, take dog for long walk, clip the bunny's nails, scrub the kitchen floor, go grocery shopping, make a special dinner, do laundry, clean the fridge, work in the garden, go to Home Depot for important things, read all the posts and threads on this site -- again, research squalor, take a quiz to see who I am, return emails, schedule something, call an office and wait on hold...
Returning in 30 minutes to report something. Wow, my heart is beating fast. I'm surprised at how disturbing this is. Too much thinking, not enough doing. Off I go.

quick check-in to say I'm doing it.
I did not do any of the procrastinator things I wanted to do. Going back out. It's daunting. So big. Must think micro micro micro. action with a fraction...floatate to motivate...activate floatation...mutation deactivation...
