I started the area rug project which includes moving some furniture (don't ask, ). Laundry of the first load is hanged up to dry, some more items have been put away.

Area rug project continues. Unfortunately I can't get it all done after all today, we have a silent time starting at my apartment house at 10 PM which the time is pretty soon. But I have gotten a good start! No wonder I propcrastinated about starting this last leg of the project because it it so time/labour intensive. Anyway, I have also continued to put things away (never leave the room empty handed -style) and pretty soon I can get my dog's bed from the dryer.

Jannie - you are so right!!! The 2 bathrooms I just painted - what a huge difference it made! Even though everything else in there was newer (3 years old), I hadn't painted. HUGE difference! I think I paid $200 in 2 colours of paint, and primer plus some tools - and I think (In my head anyway) it increased my value by about $5000. The difference was only in the time - and unfortunately mine was also interrupted because, since my house was listed for sale, people were still viewing it. But now I get to enjoy it for only a little bit longer - it would have been so much nicer if I had done it long ago.

OnTheMend. You are accomplishing a lot! That area rug project sounds like it is taking extra time, but once it is done, it will be done and worth it. Good job.

Thanks hollyhock! I've let things slip a bit and now it's time to whip my home back in order OR at least have a good start from where it's easy to continue! I should be sleeping already, but here's my last update: laundry rumba is done, most of the furniture moving is done, almost all dishes are washed.

Welcome, OnTheMend and turkeyhill OnTheMend you have done a lot so far. Painting report: my neighbour came in yesterday afternoon to start with the kitchen and we covered the furniture which we moved away from walls and he taped everything needed and then fixed all the cracks. It turned out there were way more cracks than expected, so by the time he put the first layer on the ceiling - a paint with some sort of solution that should help the paint set better, it was nearly midnight. I looked closely at the small rooms we wanted to paint too and we probably will not have a time to do the bathroom - there is a lot of repairs to be done too. And as usually when I have a lot of things to do, I was up waaaay too early. It will be a hard day today. But I looked at the kitchen ceiling now and even with some spots left, which was expected, it looks way better now - you can see how dirty it was when you compare those spots with the rest. Funny story: I admired how fast the painting goes with the roller and told him how I paited my storage room with the paintbrush. He just looked at me and said: "I did not thing you were blond." Looks like I took a bad advice then. Plans for today: He will come after 8 am (it is before 7 now), puts one alyer with penetrating solution on the walls and then we will go to get some paint - he bought only white, did not want to pick a colour without me as he said there was so many different shades of a yellow I want. We will start the prep work in the tiny toilet room (guess what - quite a lot of tiny cracks to be fixed there. Funny how you do not notice thing like that) and a hallway, which should be easier. Not a big space either. My boyfriend should be coming too so se will see how it goes. I will report back. P.S. OnTheMend will probably remember my recent obsession with having too many mugs. I had to take them out as a precaution, as we were moving the cupboard they were in and did not want to risk any damages, I put them on a dining table in my room and I think some more will go. There is deffinitelly too many for one person, even though I have to have enough for when my family visits.

OK, so the spots on the ceiling were not missed, just still wet patches. The ceiling got a second layer now and walls are being prepared - swept and scrubbed where needed. Still speaking of a kitchen. And even now it starts to look so much better.

lucie, you are a woman of quick decisions . I needed weeks to decide on a color! I hope everything will be going well for you even if you don't manage to get all the rooms painted. I have a tendency to make some things too complicated: the weather is so grey I have too little natural light in the hallway (no lamp installed because it's tiny enough to get enough light from the adjoining rooms). So I had to move my desk lamp to the hallway, and in order to switch it on I needed obviously a socket. But the socket was occupied with the extension cable to the washing machine which I needed to run because I just had to do a load . When the laundry was finished, I took the desk lamp to the hallway, and now I'm sure I don't need a second coat. I'll need to patch a few spots though along one line near the wiring. I removed the painter's tape everywhere else. Now I see I really have to do the doors, too. I have to go out later and am not sure if I'll paint today or tomorrow. So far I've sanded two door frames.

flotsam it was quite easy Everything is white, as the rooms are small without natural light, apart from the kitchen, which is light yellow. I needed something warm, it is the north side, but nothing dark as the room is not too big. Kitchen walls are nearly scratched and the first wall is getting a first layer.

So far I've done two loads of wash - hung up the first item (just one thing alone) and about to reboot the second one. I did a general trash pick up and washed the utensils in the sink. I have one hour to get ready and finish picking up. I'm sort of hunting for some chocolate too. WTG Everyone !

The first layer of paint in the kitchen is complete and drying, and quite nicely, the humidity is low so even when the temperature is not too high, it dries well. We are taking 15 minutes coffee break and will start fixing the cracks in the toilet room and the hallway.

I slept very late today and thus got a also a lte start, it's already 7 PM here and I have only booked laundry room (from 8 to 9 PM), went to grocery shopping and post office, straightened up some things a bit, made my bed ... and that's about it. Now I will try to get the area rug project finished, and all the vacuuming done before 10 PM when the silent time starts.

I'm sure you needed the rest! I just showered/fix my hair I am leaving for a couple of hours. YAY I was so tired and was OK with showering but wasn't sure if I had it in me to get ready.
