Way to go Dirtbee for getting jump started! Way to go Lissa23 for deciding to do a portion of work last night before a marathon ensues. Way to go Needmorecoffee for using baby wipes because it's cheep and it's fast… I just desqualored an armoire that is not being utilized. 7 minutes (there wasn't much in it) Just taped one side of a game box for my little one (before all of it's contents falls out) 1 minute

I've had a hideous day back at work and minibee has been a nightmare to get to bed (he's sick). I am going to do 8 minutes in the kitchen. It won't get it all the way there but it will make inroads.

My headache is killing me but I spent 8 minutes on dishes, 8 minutes on cleaning the kitchen, 8 minutes on cleaning the bathroom and 8 minutes on decluttering. This method is brilliant and it's amazing how much I can accomplish in just eight short minutes.

I think the power of 8 minutes (or 3, or 10, or 1 minute) is that it is such a small increment of time that how can you NOT do it. And once we're up and moving, it's easy to continue on. But even if we don't keep going, there is a small satisfaction in having done SOMETHING. I did another two 8 minute sessions last night, pick get up trash and hanging things up in my bedroom.

Thank you openwindows and bobolinkI have now done six 8 minute sessions in the sun room, temporarily renamed the "far dirtier than the barn" room. For months and months, my lovely descendents had been piling their bags of garbage in there, waiting for "someone" to haul it off. Since the sun room was originally an open porch that was later screened in and carpeted (my mother was obsessed with carpeting), there is about a 1/2" gap around the bottom - so rain could run off, I guess. Frankly, I might would have liked it better as an open porch with concrete floor. That way, it could be swept/hosed off. If you're going to make it into a sun room, finish the job. Closed in and carpeted, with a 1/2" gap all the way around the floor just lets critters in! And with birds out there last summer (bird seed), and bags of garbage all winter, it's a mouse delight. I started setting traps out there several months ago, and hauled off all the bags of trash a few weeks ago. But it's nasty. Bags were chewed open and the contents spilled everywhere. Stuff was thrown on top of that. Mice died and were buried in the mess. I'm sure you get the idea. It's so nasty that my clothes smell like old garbage, after working out there for only 48 minutes. Someone on the board said no one ever admits to being level 3 or 4.......here it is, folks. Level 4, piled high and wide. I'm telling you, there is no way I could tackle it if I thought I had to work for more than 8 minutes at a time. YAY for 8 minutes!
