Yesterday a big box of books from the Doom Room made it all the way to Goodwill! SO EXCITED. Today I posted something on our local Freecycle. It's an ugly clown sculpture.
Today I hope to do a bit more. And tomorrow I will have a helper again.
Bit by bit...
Considering photos. Might get to that by the end of the day.

The ugly clown is GONE!
So MUCH emotional baggage on that guy! It was a gift from my husband's cousin. I vividly remember the day we opened the box. Husband and I were both horrified. But we dutifully displayed it for a while. When we realized that cousin never visited the house (pre-squalor days) we boxed it up. But never got rid of it until now. Husband didn't remember who gave it to us. So it was time.
Today I will try to do chat on my phone, and get some more work done in the doom room.

Still struggling almost a year later. And it's OK. Because I haven't given up.

Bethel, I've been struggling with this house for 25 years and I haven't given up either. We gotta' be more stubborn than the mess. In related news, I have four brand new pairs of pants for my partner. They all need hemming. Last night I measured and cut off the excess. I had a STRONG urge to keep all those leg-ends. But I decided to use one to patch his two still-semi-serviceable pairs and trash the rest. Progress. Seven scraps at a time.

Pushing through today. Got a load of laundry in. There are a couple loads to put away. In the past few months I've been just getting used to more dizzy/unbalanced and so, out of kindness, my partner has been feeding and watering the chickens. I've made it a mission to get that job back for myself. Yesterday and today both I've been out there feeding, watering, and gathering eggs. Go Me!

Chickens fed and watered. I haven't rebooted the laundry yet. That's next. Then I need to work on the small coop in the breeding pen... In the last month we DID at least set up the breeding pen.. Soon enough we can start our Jersey Giant breeding program.
OH! and yesterday I got pressure cooker. It was a purchase planned for over a year. Managed to get it second hand and at a very good deal. "Only $200" But it's the biggest, best pressure cooker there is out there. It's HUGE and will make canning chicken meat very easy.
I had a space cleared on a shelf for the pressure cooker BEFORE I made the purchase.
Bit by bit, folks. Bit by bit...

Decluttering win today. Two items OUT THE DOOR and off to Standing Rock! One was an old, but professional quality piece of recording equipment that will be used for a youth sponsored media booth, and the other was my old parka that I bought when I was 19 and living in Alaska. I've worn it comfortably in 40 below weather.... But since I moved to the Pacific Northwest 30 years ago I have had ZERO use for it. Every year I thought about putting it up on Ebay but never have. It's a high quality coat - fake fur over down. Took up a LOT of room in my closet and held sooo many wonderful old memories. It makes me smile to think of it keeping the warrior I gifted it to warm and safe over the next few months, and maybe longer. Please no comments about the political nature of the way I decluttered these items. It was just the right time and place and person to LET THEM GO, and THAT sentiment transcends politics.

Bethel, it's your stuff and your decisions. Myself, I think you did great. I have given away things I valued and had a lot of money invested in, but it didn't hurt as bad when I did it on my terms. You Rock!

It's a unique experience rehoming heavy coats and such. It was a bizarre concept that I should never get as cold as I used to and it was ok to make space in my home for lighter wraps which suit my current needs. Good for you☆☆☆☆☆
