andrea , I am so sorry your older son treated you in this abusive way! I am worried for you. This is not the first time he has shown physical and verbal abuse toward you. soft hugs. join here when you can, and WTG on all the sorting of CDs/DVDs you've done. Been AWOL myself - wrote a post in my blog about what's happening here in the neighborhood. some neighborhood CRAP is ramping up with the meth-heads. i have to go do my kitty-care job but will be back here later to work on some stuff. almost half of my ornaments don't fit on my little tree, will cull as many of those as i can. having big pangs about this. wash, dry, fold, and put away 1 load of laundry hope to accomplish: finish decorating tree put aside ornaments to donate (still struggling with letting about 2 dozen of them go - there are about 50 in donation box) wash some dishes dinner and cleanup filled most of a box with fabric scraps and pieces that i'm not keeping. i put in more work than i thought i could. my back is really hurting so i'll call it a night.

Today I am trying to get my Social Security updated. It is taking forever. I also need to change my primary care physician and I can't do that until the Social Security is updated. It's a catch 22 and the problem is because of my procrastination.

hello @iprocrastnate and Di ! MERRY CHRISTMAS! wtg on getting your fax through, ipro, and doing the present thing. Di, i hope the SS thing is going well so you can change your pcp. i need to do the same, but not even gonna try until after the new year. i got a few lil' things done this week, my friend's house get flooded so most of my time has been spent there helping her. exhausting work - poor thing. this is the second flood in 8 months, both due to plumbing failures. accomplishments the past several days: i got about 10 cards sent out. gave away 2 strands of christmas lights. a lighted star for a window, and those ornaments slated to go. some went to friends, the rest to the thrift. dropped off another grocery bag of clothing at the consignment store. i'm still resistant to writing out cards and wrapping gifts. don't know why. just exhausted i guess. nothing left to give right now. i have a ton to do for the next few days. here is a partial list:wrap some gifts for several packages to go out Monday. Put all gifts in a bag for now. find a box for shipping, and some packing material. (Monday) write out more late Christmas cards - the list just got a whole lot smaller. dishes take a walk to convenience store for fresh air and chocolate - or drive if it's raining - walked around town. it was almost deserted. i LOVED that.cat care visit (doing this from Dec 19 through January 3) make new folder for social security stuff. corral some papers sort some papers did one hour of sortingfile some papers make a to-do list of important things to do for the next several days. water houseplants; clean up. pull off dead blooms on christmas cactuses. check covered balcony plants. water if needed. take tuberous begonias out of pots and put into dry peat moss.

i stayed up all night watching youtube - Carol Burnett "eunice" this time. Okay... this bad habit pattern is clear - i commit to cutting off the youtube off at midnight, and switching to CDs if i want music. today's list to do-get at least one package ready to mail for tomorrow - didn't, but wrapped some gifts for the package finish holiday cards. get mailed tomorrow keep working on fabric stash wrap some gifts for the packages cat care job clean up kitchen - ongoing, but i worked on catching up on dishes and startied cleaning stovetop go to bed much earlier. i'd settle for 1 a.m. or 2. habit change:no youtube after midnight. However - we had a 4.9 earthquake at 11:30 p.m. and i was pretty shook, so it took me awhile to fall asleep - another 3 a.m. night - but i did not watch youtube.

(missed the mail AGAIN today. but did get an address that i needed) cat care job - just found out today that tonight is my last night, because her son is coming home early tomorrow. gave him extra snuggles tonight!more kitchen clean up more with papers maybe take a walk, if not too cold visit with a friend - we took a walk on the beach with the cat i'm taking care of. so sweet!shower and hair washing go through winter clothes and accessories for donations or consignment items - to drop off tomorrow call social security office! spent long time on phone with them. work on 2015 income chart to include with appeal letter to social security call dentist! (tooth pain) - called. got a short appointment for 2 tomorrow - then we'll know.call sr. center and comm. resource ctr. to inquire about dental care assistance - was refered to social worker. he is working on getting me a list of dentists. habit change:no youtube after midnight before end of the year i'd like to order some things online that i really need: sewing machine foot for my featherweight - found one on ebay for a good price. shoes (all of mine are wearing out at once) - bought a used pr of clogs/slides on ebay. kind of scuffed up but it's just for gardening and casual wear. hoping they fit - and will be useful.order checks - running low business card magnets - been looking for the right ones for some time. i really need a new computer. this one is from 2006. would love to find a used one i can afford that is an upgrade. this one can hardly do anything anymore.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! hi imamess - my machine did not come with a straight stitching foot - it has a lot of fancy things i will never use like a ruffler. i ordered the foot. was wondering - there is a set of snap-on feet which includes an open-toe darning foot for free motion quilting or sewing/embroidery. what do you know about the snap on feet? the set comes with an adapter. but what i would really like to know if there is an open toe darning foot that would fit onto featherweights. have never used the snap-on feet; have you? i did not get anything mailed out yesterday. if i have it together i can mail out a few cards tomorrow, but no packages now til Monday, so there really is no excuse not to finish this. talked to apt manager about upcoming rent changes and increases - i am being recertified this month - and there is an inspection in February - hoping late Feb. yikes. i look around at this place and feel hopeless. it took 2 1/2 months last time. storage is FULL - both units. i have a herculean amount of work to do again. and two quilt camps in January, and art classes to teach and hopefully some gardening. oh well - gonna do my best to work hard this month. a couple of good things happened:1) i only need a filling, not a root canal or crown. so relieved! my appointment for that is on Thursday. 2) i had a bunch of books in my cart on Amazon (lesson- do NOT shop late at night when tired and weak to temptation) and then i looked in my bedroom at that big pile of NICE art books on the floor that won't fit into the bookshelves, and decided no - not one more book until i get those off the floor, which means releasing some books. 3) bought the foot for my sewing machine, some peel and stick magnets that i can use for magnets that i make and hope to sell on etsy. i also bought a couple pr of shoes - i wear Kalso Earth shoes for my back - they really help! i got one pair of those - slip on clogs- and a pair of ecco shoes that i hope will be good for when i go dancing. i really don't have a good pr of dance shoes for Latin dance nights more later after i get home - i am doing inventory work for the office supply store for the next several days; we do it every year. invariably we have our best winter weather when i am stuck indoors - but it affords me some store credit for things like lamination, xeroxes, and office supplies.

My first step today was cleaning my crockpot so I can cook the pork butt for supper, and joining here so I know I am not alone in the endeavor to take back my home
