Hi Ms OB- thanks for getting our week off to a good start. I'm up, let the dogs out and back in, now just drinking coffee, the key in my ignition has been turned on but I'm just parked in neutral, warming up but not really ready to move. Laty night I was too tired to elaborate on what Debbie and I got done so I'll tell ya all now. 1. Put together three of these lamp/table units, www.lowes.com/pd_176977-56253-DW1-613___?Ntt=magazine+rack+table&UserSearch=magazine+rack+table&productId=50088280 One to go next to the twin bed in the sewing room, one to go beside the sofa in the guest room and the last one in my office, between the day bed and my desk. 2. I'd taken down and washed a large number of shears in the living room and dining room and we got those all hung back up. 3. Windows in the living room, including the semi-circular one above the wide center picture window all got washed. Wow, nice difference but Boca dog will soon have the middle one all slobbered up again. 4. Rearranged furniture in the sun room, moving a dining table, a new recliner and other pieces around. Swept and vac'd the room. Then we washed the inside and outside of the glass door and storm door that leads out to the back porch. 5. Assembled a new office style chair to use at the small writing desk in front of the dining room windows. 6. While the above was going on I also managed to get two more loads of those heavy dog blankets washed and dried. So, while I'm not running in top gear yet, I am feeling inspired and hope to continue to get a bunch more tasks done today. Too bad that D has to go work at her real job today, but she's off on Wed and may come back then.

Good morning Ohblondie, thanks for starting the thread--have a good day at work today. Calypso, it sounds like you guys worked all day--and, it sounds like your rooms are huge! Do you still have more rearranging to do? Last night I ended up on the phone for quite a while again, but I tried to straighten things up before I went to bed. In the evening I had taken the pigeon into the bathroom and offered him a bowl of water to see if he wanted a bath--I know he does, but he was too nervous being in the new place and as suspected, kept flying up to perch on the shower curtain rod, he didn't show any interest in the bowl of water. So, I either have to put him in the bathroom often so he gets used to it first, which I don't want to do until he gets his next vet checkup, or else give him a bowl of water in his cage and cover the whole cage with a blanket to keep him from splashing the stuff in that room, (and his cage is never covered so I'd have to get him used to that too). I think in the meantime I'll use the plant mister and see if he likes that--it's better than nothing. I mist the parakeet in the warm weather but not in winter, I'm afraid it'll make her too cold--but the pigeon is so large that I don't think it's an issue. His cage is also about 4 feet away from a radiator, so I could wait until the heat is running. I'm feeling anxious about time this week--I have to go to my sister's, and the choices of days are tomorrow or Friday. Today there's supposed to be some snow, and the temperature drops quite a bit tomorrow--does that mean things will be icy? Maybe--although if I put it off til Friday, I'll have to go then no matter what happens, because the following week will be very busy. That's really what I'm anxious about, my relief dog walker will be out of town, I have to do the walks she usually does for 2 of my clients (7 walks altogether) and I agreed to do 2 more for one of her own clients. Then I have to take care of her cats, and both of my other cat clients are going out of town the same time, at the end of that week. It always happens like this--everyone goes at the same time. The beginning of that week is Presidents' Day, but the cat care people are going at the end of that week, not Monday. I know I will be sore and grumpy that week, and I'm already worrying about it. I have to stop worrying and enjoy this week first--plenty of time to complain about next week, next week. In the meantime I have to get going on my morning routine. Put sheets and light comforter in washer to start a little later Scoop litter pans Pigeon care Wash cat food dishes Diane

Good morning Ohblondie, thanks for starting the thread--have a good day at work today. Calypso, it sounds like you guys worked all day--and, it sounds like your rooms are huge! Do you still have more rearranging to do? Wow Diane, sounds like the care of the pigeon is a bit of work, to say the least. I hope that this week everything works out very smoothly and that the extra work (and I assume extra money) is all just fine too. Yeah, my home is big, 2800 sq. ft, with 3 very large bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, the sun room at the back of the house and a large room upstairs that I use for sewing but is probably considered a family room. I don't have any more required rearranging to do but I'm sort of bored with the way the large living room/dining room is set up, it's been the same for 10 years and I do like to change things up once in a while. All the quadrupeds have been fed and medicated and the dish washer got emptied but I'm still in my PJ's. Gotta get dressed to work boots even though I am having a stay at home day or else I won't get much done.

Calypso, it would be easier if I didn't feel guilty about him being bored in his cage. But I know he needs more attention than I'm giving him. I need to get him to the vet, but I know it won't happen this week and definitely not next week.
I do feel a little better, I talked to my sister and we decided Friday would be best for me to come, tomorrow sounds too cold and slippery. This will give me a chance to get to the bank and open a new checking account, which I've been procrastinating on since the beginning of the year. Luckily my BIL's nurse arrived after we had been talking for 15 minutes so it was a short phone call.
I did start the laundry a while ago, and I cleaned out my kitchen sink and sink strainer.
Next:
Wash more cat food dishes Move laundry to dryer PEEP BR & bathroom Eat breakfast

calypso I love those lamps. And the stoage in the bottom is a plus. You were very busy yesterday - wahoo!! So excited that you can see a difference. dtesposito Good luck with the weather. I drove today as I was up late last night watching the superbowl. That might have been a mistake as we are supposed to get snow this afternoon that could impact the commute home. I don't mind the bad weather as much when I am on the bus. I leave at 3:45 so hopefully I will be ahead of the bad weather and rush hour traffic. I am headed over to the weekend thread to post my weekend accompishments. Tonight I am continuing work in my LR. My son agreed to help me roll up the rug once i get the crap cleaned out of there.

Thanks for starting the thread ohblondie I will indeed make today count! keep those arms moving calypso I love those lamps, too. How perfect - storage to keep the tops clear, and lamps that the pets can't knock over - great score! dtesposito IDK if this would work for your pigeon, but I've done this for my rats: get a cheap paint roller tray at the dollar store, and fill a tiny bit of water in the paint area - then they can walk down the 'ramp' to access their bath. I logged in a while ago, to get some Soos motivation going. It worked! I was able to unload/reload my dishwasher, and fold up the laundry sitting in the dryer - now I'm washing my bedding, so I'll be changing that later today. I brought home 2 boxes from work (wow, I didn't have any!) so I can begin the book cull this week. I'm also going to scrub down the kitchen cabinet faces once more, so I can stain them.

Anyone out there having problems with AOL todayWow ohblondie, to be honest, I didn't know AOL was still around! I haven't heard of it for ages. Cyn, that paint roller thing for rats is the cutest visual EVER! I can just see a rat walking down towards the water and sticking one toe in to see if it was warm enough! I'm not sure if a paint pan would be big enough, this pigeon is pretty big, but I guess I could try it to start out--I don't have any doubt that he WANTS to take a bath--I've come in the room and seen him standing in his little shallow water bowl, so that only the bottom of his feet are covered. I'm just afraid of the mess he would make in the room he's in, because I store a lot of books in there. In fact, I might have an unused paint pan around here somewhere. Now I want to watch a rat take a bath! I'm home from mid-day work, at my senior client's house today our project was emptying out a shelf in a shallow closet in her kitchen that she had food in--I know we partially cleaned out this closet before, but talk about pantry moths--I cleaned out only the top shelf today and the debris from moths and possibly other bugs too was a quarter inch thick, covering practically the whole shelf. Anything not too old and in a can or bottle she wanted to keep and wash off--at least I got her to throw away the boxed goods--I can't imagine what they looked like inside the box. I'm eating lunch now and will try to get something done before I have to go out again later. Finish lunch Clean up after lunch Cat feeding Pigeon care Post in weekly goal thread Diane

Diane, rats are cute no matter what they're doing I put that down in the summertime, to cool them off. They splash in their water dish during the winter - I don't want them to get too wet, and get cold. If you really want to watch some cute, check out the mouse agility videos on youtube! I must have caught the cold that a coworker had this weekend, because my body didn't feel as enthusiastic as my mind did - I didn't start the cabinets today. I felt guilty for wasting the day, so I did some defending instead: kitchen & bathroom duties, changed garbages, broke down cardboard (and even earned a trophy for getting rid of a perfectly good shoebox, ) vacuumed...all done in the spirit of "aw crap, do I hafta?!" but now the place looks so much nicer that I'm glad I did it. Time for another shot of Buckley's, ugh.
