Last weekend, we sorted and cleaned out all the clothes, shoes and accessories. So far, have 7 full kitchen bags. Our church is collecting for the refugees so dropping these bags off next week. Going to finish the closet today which includes: 1) bins holding one size down and retro/memory clothes. 2) a bulging shelf of "travel" items that needs to be purged. 3) vanity area that frequently becomes a catch all 4) laundry 5) floor stuff that wasn't put back after last weekend or has collected since (like suitcases). We are out of town next weekend and having some cleaners coming on Monday that will need access to all rooms (washing windows) so will spend the rest of the time getting ready for that. Also finishing our master bedroom today - it needs a good scrub. PC

Still haven't finished the closet Maybe this weekend. Will have to do a mini stash and dash tonight because cleaners are coming in the morning and right now I have goat trails in several rooms. Sigh.

I'm semi in maintenance but stuff is starting to "leak". I can make most rooms usable with a concentrated effort of stash and dash but storage spots are getting full or not being used. My goal for the next week is to do a PEEP on one area at a time. No major de-cluttering, sorting or organizing. Just actually put stuff where it belongs and get it out of sight. Oddly enough - things do have a place they "belong" - may be stuffed full - may be a jumbled mess but it has a location. Hopefully, one spot at a time - then maintain the existing spot(s) and go on to the next spot. Starting with the "heart" - the kitchen- tonight which is mostly done because it is used so often. May do the adjoining family room which only has minor things out. The rooms that are really bad are the "behind door" ones.

At the very least, I do a nightly PEEP of the entryhall and all the surfaces surrounding my bed. Makes a big difference in peace of mind for sleep, and then easing into the next morning. Not to mention NOT stubbing my toes in middle-of-night treks to the toilet!

papermoon Yes not stubbing toes is a positive! Most of the house has been "peeped". The majority of surfaces have been done. Office which is the place where things went to die - I managed to get all the boxes/bags/bins emptied and put away. My desk and chair hole of the desk is still a mountain of procrastination. My drawers, cupboards, and closets are stuffed full. I did clean out five drawers and a cupboard in the kitchen. One of my peeping discoveries was a set of pots and pans bought as a Christmas present to ourselves. We had pulled a few pieces here and there but most remained on the guest bed. Ended up gathering an entire box for donation. A huge amount of lids - I definitely was prepared for any pot emergency I also had drawers that were extremely sticky so some WD40 - vastly improved. Just posting to keep myself accountable to my end goals. So many "to dos" and so little time.

We had company from Saturday to Saturday so nothing was really done. Wasn't too motivated on a hot spot - just general PEEP and laundry after they left. My big TO DO is planning a party for FOL this week.

Bumping this - was gone for half of August. Going to work today on getting my surfaces cleared again and start a schedule of clearing the "hidden" clutter. Would be nice this week to get out the donations.

Re-organized four hotspots this past weekend - laundry room and three pantry closets. All areas have "tiny purges" needed but in general - I have "like with like" and can find something in less than 10 minutes. Most importantly, I re-organized and cleared out enough that I have spare room. So, when I get to some other hotspots - I can relocate other things as necessary. Ideally, I will just enjoy the "extra room". Next up is my home office - a disaster of the first order. This may take all of October. It also houses about 90% of our books so probably is due for a purge.

Bumping - I've done a few hot spots under quarantine - master bathroom, half of our closet, 95% of the kitchen, 60% of the family room, 40% of the home office. I'm not as active as planned on the purge-a-thon but maybe I can reactivate this thread instead. In the last few months: 1) Completely organized the master bathroom - a linen closet, three drawers, two cupboards, two medicine cabinets and a "storage" thingy. 2) In the master closet - cleaned out all non clothes/non accessories which means all our travel supplies, all of my vanity area and everything that was all over the floor from our various trips. 3) In the home office, I cleared off everything off the floor which was stuff from 6-8 months ago . Also went through three bookcases and took out some "low hanging" donations. Set it up as a home office. 4) In the kitchen - I've cleaned, sorted and organized EVERY CUPBOARD, EVERY COUNTERTOP and EVERY DRAWER but one. That one is extremely hard to reach - requires stepstool, possibly standing on counter and hand off to DH 5) In the family room, I've almost done with the large entertainment unit, most of a second standing cabinet and 2/3 done with a built-in cabinet. 6) Sorted out some pantry areas a while back - they probably need a "refresh" with all the COVID supplies. Would like to FINISH: 1) Kitchen - just that one cupboard left!!! 2) Family room 3) master closet 4) refresh on the pantry areas Maybe by the long weekend?
